Ok math and AP peeps. Could I take advantage of this promotion to my benefit in any way or is it just going to reduce my losses?

If I play on a specific day and lose $50 or more I can come back a few days later and get $50 in free play. $50 is the max I can get no matter him much I lose. And it's based on actual loss during that one day, not theo. This applies to slots and video poker, but there are no full pay slot pay tables.

That is a great promotion that can definitely be taken advantage of. Quit after losing $50 or cashout when ahead "x" amount. "x" depends on the game and your level of risk. I would probably quit when $150 ahead. If you lose, come back and get your $50 in free play and play it through once and cash out. Repeat until rich.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

Agree. It's best to pay a high variance, high denomination game. You are looking for a jackpot from a free roll.

It's once a week for only one month. I don't think I can get rich, but maybe come out ahead with only risking $200 total.

$1 VP probably your best bet for actually making money (having a good chance of coming out a winner). $10/pull WOF probably your best value (guess), though.

Play one spin on a $10 video poker machine (unless you get your money back, in which case play again until you've either lost $50 or won money).

Hitting a two pair and winning $20 is not that appealing. I think 5 shots on $10 WoF, with 5 free shots if I lose seems good. That's 40 total spins to hope for a nice hit.

ZCore13, if you stop at $50 loss each week, then you are actually risking $0. A true free roll.

Not really. Because the rebate is in free play, not cash.

Two pair is a $50 profit. And if that's not appealing enough, then just keep playing trying to hit the $40,000 royal. Playing a slot machine is just giving up value.

Zcore already said there is no $10 VP. Only $10/spin WOF or $1 ($5/spin) VP.
