As some of you know who follow my AC trip reports, I was fortunate to win $1,000 in free slot play. I would love advice from the slot community on what my best chances are of turning the FSP into actual cash...Thank you in advance for your advice

So the payout on the $1 JOB is better than a $1 WOF slot machine?

Way better. Hell a crap video poker machine is better than WOF. 9/6 JoB (99.54% max) is the highest paying machine Revel has. And JoB strategy isn't THAT hard. Blackjack basic strategy may be more difficult than JoB strategy, or at least they are close in difficulty.

I played 9/6 JoB w/Super Times Pay (99.82% max) today. If only my home casino had that game, then I would be even a bigger video poker addict...lol

without knowing the stats the slot machine is set to its hard to compare.

The Job with the strategy posted has less than a 1/2 % house edge.

My personal experience you should get back on a bad day 80%, Aver day 90%, and if you hit the RF forgetaboutit!!!

Keep in mind you are playing for CASH only play the $1,000 free play and nothing more.

For flagging my post the punishment shall be
1)take me to the Taj signature lounge
2) take me to the lounge @ borgata.
3) Let me in person check out the rooms @ revel (I would like to see them).

Oh I will pay the tips @ the lounges.

Revel doesn't have that machine.

They just have regular 9/6 Jacks or Better that pays 99.54%, but that is good enough for this obv.

For a 5 credit bet:
Royal 4000
SF 250
4 of a kind 125
Full House 45
Flush 30
Straight 20
3 of a kind 15
2 pair 10
Jacks or Better 5

The bold numbers are what the casinos often change to adjust the payouts 45/5 = 9 and 30/5 = 6, hence, 9/6 Jacks or Better.

A WOF wide area progressive is roughly 88 to 90%. It's probably the best game at the airport.

Average return without errors, yes.

But roughly 2% of that is devoted to a $4000 Royal Flush. And another 6.5% of the return is devoted to straight flushes ($250 each) and 4 of a kinds ($125 each), if you fail to get any of these hands in 200 hands played (more than half of the time), then you would expect closer to $915 back. $800 or less back is possible as well, but would be fairly unlucky.

The optimal strategy is here: https://wizardofodds.com/games/video-poker/strategy/jacks-or-better/9-6/optimal/

The description of where these machines are sucks...hopefully you can find them.

Wouldn't be guessing that one. I tend to play 6/5 Triple Bonus Plus for one quarter (95.37%) at McCarran while waiting for the damn plane. Damn addict I am. :-\ Only time I can recall ever getting back-to-back quads though.

No, you have a 1 - (40,389.55/40,390.55)^200 = 1 in 202.45 chance at the royal flush in 200 hands played.

But when you dont hit that (almost every time), your average return will drop about 2% to $975 of $1000.

Yes, but unless you never look at the 9/6 JoB strategy and/or are brain dead, you'll easily play above a 98% return, which is significantly better than any slot machine.

Biggest corrections to this, straight flushes with no high cards and 2 gaps (like 478, 589, 579) are worse than any high card. Also KQJ unsuited is better than "two lowest high cards unsuited". Also AKQJ just beats 2 suited high cards, and a inside straight with 3 high cards beats 2 unsuited high cards. These suggestions alone will move the simple strategy much closer to the intermediate, imo, and probably give a 99.5% return.

Post blocking? You mean generally responding first? I'm not doing much else at the moment, so I keep refreshing...lol I'm going to bed soon though. Also probably have bombarded ace with more 9/6 JoB strategy thoughts than he ever wanted to read....lol

When he says 2% of the expectation is the royal flush, it doesn't mean the chances of getting it are 2%. It means that royals will comprise 2% of your total return.

An easier example to understand is deal or no deal. At the start of the game, the million dollar case comprises 29.25% of your total expectation, but the chances of actually getting the million dollar case are 3.85% (1/26).

My understanding of this free slot play stuff is that the slot machine does not know if the quarter came from the floor, the player or was stolen from someone else. So the free play is just a series of "electronic quarters" and you can use them as you wish. Maximum advantage on the use of their money or your money... its the same maximum advantage.

Correct. The machine cannot make any decisions based on the source of the money.
