Silverado Stud Poker

Does anyone know the proper strategy or approximate HE for Silverado Stud Poker?

I played and enjoyed this game at the Dakota Sioux casino in Watertown, SD, and I'm interested in how the game stacks up...

Yep. Just played break even on the demo for over thirty minutes. I like the game music way more than I should have.

Also the play site paytables look to be higher than those legally authorized by South Dakota. :( Play money is closest to Version S (w/500 to 1 royal) except full houses pay 10 to 1 instead of 9 to 1, and 3-card trips pay 10 to 1 instead of 8 to 1. I would like to play the game without the mandatory 3 card bet I would think.

You will not find much on this game. There is actually a dealer at Royal River Casino in Flandreau, SD that created this game and it is only played at a few casinos in the area.

Basically you are playing odds, not the dealer. You get dealt 4 whole cards down and then dealer will also have 2 cards that are down. You then are going to separate these cards into your best 3 and 5 card poker hands playing with the 2 cards of the dealer.

Any pair on the 3 card pays you 1:1 with the best hand being a 3 card straight flush paying you 15:1.

Pairs on the 5 card side need to be Jacks or better and also pay 1:1. Top paying on the 5 card side is Royal Flush which is 200:1, straight flush is 100:1, 4 of a kind is 50:1, etc.

If you are dealt a pair of Jacks or better and do not have any better draws you will keep these two cards on your 5 card side and you can then put a bet in the middle which will allow you to win on two hands. You can bet this middle whenever you want, but most of the time you do not do it unless on a really good draw (flush), or have a pair of Jacks or better.

This will show you how to play, but the rules on the demo game are different than those in the casino. In the casino there is no push on this game, lowest is 1:1 which is Jacks or better on your 5 card and any pair on your three card.

The raise bet matches your ante, so if you place a bet of $10 dollars, your raise will be for $10. This gives you a win on both of those bets. You cannot raise on your 3 card hand.
