Andar Bahar is a simple 50/50 card game out of southern India. It has spread and now can be found at some Internet casinos with a live dealer feature, by XPG-Live. For all the rules and analysis, please click the link.

As always, I welcome all comments about the page.

The question for the poll is would you play Andar Bahar?

I was in India, I saw this game and I didn’t play so I guess that answers the poll for me lol.

Do you have anything to add, like any side bets on the table?

Nothing was in English which is mostly why I didn’t play it. I had no way of figuring out what was going on.

It’s the same way as I learned to play Niu Niu almost by accident in Cambodia. I didn’t know what it was but one of the casinos I wanted a chip from had no other tables open so I attempted to learn the game, which I did successfully I might add!

So color only matters for the first card dealt after the middle? After that, the cards alternate back and forth regardless of color?
Have you tried 22 tonight? I said 22.

Here is what a web site says where I got the rules.

Quote:

The dealer asks for the bets to be placed and players can then select a card from a pack. Cards are then dealt out on either side alternately, Andar for the left and Bahar for the right spots. Dealt card number needs to match the card number the player selects. If this happens, then the game finishes.

In case of dealing of cards, there is a certain pattern followed. For instance, among the cards dealt, if the first one is of a black suit, such as Spade or Clover, then dealing starts from Andar or left spot. If cards are of the red suit such as Diamond or Heart then dealing is started from the right spot. The betting choice is also given to the player against the dealer’s card in some rounds.

I interpreted that mean that it is the color of the first card OTHER than the middle card, which determines which side gets the first card, but it isn't absolutely clear what is meant by the "first card." I welcome other interpretations, but the odds are the same either way.

5% house edge, wins of 0.9 to 1, and a playing mechanic not much more elaborate than war. Terrible game. I'd rather play roulette.

I made a lot of changes. Please have a fresh look at my Andar Bahar page. In particular.

1. If an even number of cards are dealt (not counting the first Joker card), wins pay even money.
2. At Ezugi, the Andar side always gets the first card. Wins on that side pay 0.9 and on Bahar pay 1.
3. Ezugi offers side betting on the number of cards required to resolve the bet.

I originally misread the title as “Andy Bahar” and assumed it was about a person. Anyway, if the limits were low enough I’d probably play for a few minutes if I were in an Indian casino. I’d do it for the novelty factor and probably be done in 15 minutes. Personally, I think the best game that falls into the category of “really elaborate mechanism to bet on basically a coin flip” is Fan Tan. This game is far less amusing from the “this is weird” perspective.
If anyone gives you 10,000 to 1 on anything, you take it. If John Mellencamp ever wins an Oscar, I am going to be a very rich dude.

how to play andar bahar

Rules For Playing Andar Bahar
You know at this point the game is basic. Yet, that doesn’t mean it won’t have any standards.

The rudiments are that a solitary deck of cards is utilized with the chances being 50. The player who might be wagering has a choice to pick either the Left space (Andar) or the Correct opening (Bahar).
The seller will cut a card which will be obvious to the client. Presently the client should put down a wager on whether a card of a similar worth will show up on either the left (Andar) or the Right (Bahar).
State for instance the sellers cut is a card with the presumptive worth of five. Let’s assume you wagered on Andar.
Presently the seller will begin managing cards individually on Andar and the Bahar spaces. In the event that the card with a similar assumed worth falls on Andar you get the cash multiplied. In the event that it falls on bahar you lose.
Additionally, if the primary card drawn is from a dark suite the managing begins from Andar and in the event that it is from the red suite the managing begins from bahar.
