I recently had four new gambling videos made. One of them is on Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em. Yes, I know it isn't the most exciting video on You Tube. The footage is what it is. At this point if you spot any obvious errors, please let me know.

Still watching, but when you detailed the "21 outs" where Angela was the only hand in play, you counted to 19, but did not account for the dealer having 2 hearts would make a flush, or 2 connectors with the 67 to make an inside straight. Did you mean to skip those in counting outs in this case? Is there any case where you would count possible flushes and/or straights as outs when counting to 21?

Just started watching and can see there has been a big effort to look more professional.

What is that theme tune?

When counting outs in UTH you generally ignore 2-card hands that the dealer could have and worry about single cards that can beat you. If the dealer can make the hand with 1 card, then you count it.

Thank you. The music is Blue is the Colour, which is the theme song to the Chelsea football club.

Three thoughts, not related to possible mistakes; I found it very amusing in the first couple minutes that you were teaching the game at Galaxy, but you did a fairly good job of explaining that. I wanted more detail on why the blind bet is even there, but since you're just teaching the basics, it was fine as it was. However, just about every new player I've sat with has asked what the deal is with the blind bet within 10 minutes, so it might be worth a small explanation if you end up editing. Also, if you edit, a superimposed image of the basic player's layout, possibly clipped from Bally's website if they would allow it, would help people understand what you're looking at as you discuss the bet spots in the first couple of minutes.

So, if you edit, it might be worth saying that. But no mistake, and I'm guessing it would be expensive to get the group together to make edits, so probably it will go unsaid. Thanks for the clarification.

That would have been a good idea at the time, but it would cost a lot of money to bring back the entire team and reshoot scenes. I could plop in graphics to say things I forgot, but that looks unprofessional.

As I'm sure you know, the Blind bet is basically a mandated sucker bet. The return on it is awful, but something has to pay for the raise bet, which is very powerful in the player's favor.

You mean SHFL's website?

As for the blind bet explanation, eh, I'm but surprised that many new players ask that, but let's try to concisely sum that up. It allows the house to offer these 4X and 2X raises after seeing your cards and also allows the house to offer big payouts on Royals, Straight Flushes, and Four of a Kinds without going broke on the game.

One clear mistake that should be fixed since it is a graphic. You discuss the most common "Trips Bet" table at starting at 15:35, but the graphic titles it as "Ante Bet" instead.

I understand why the blind bet is there. The Wiz's one-sentence explanation above is what I thought should be included, probably without the word "sucker" for the video. But it was dependent on whether he would be editing.

It's no longer SHFL's website. They have aggressively converted to Bally in name and deed. I have had to break myself of the habit of using that reference. But it still works to type in SHFL.com; it just hooks onto the same page under Bally's name and web address.

The theme song - seriously?

There must be a few musically inclined people on this forum. Let's give the wizard a good jingle or theme song with some Vegasy feel, please!

Do you observe matters of etiquette in your video? touching the cards; tossing the cards to fold; the hand signal to check ?

There's some rule at some casinos to not show each other your cards, but most places really don't care. I've flashed my goods to others and they appreciate it.

Dude! What happens in Vegas.....:-P

Lots of places have a sign that says "no discussing hands with other players." And it's usually about 5 minutes into play before the dealer starts saying "oooooh, two aces on the board. anybody got an ace??"

Yup, most places have the sign but not every dealer enforces it. Discount Gambling has a page on using collusion.

Regarding etiquette, I agree. I should have covered it.

Regarding the theme song, it isn't that I'm a big Chelsea fan, but do like the tune. If you know the lyrics, it is hard to get out of your head once it gets in there. The company that helped with the editing originally had different music, which I didn't like.

Also another thing to add: Don't play this and attempt trivia with the dealers at the Golden Gate or the D. The music is way too loud to hear anything and think straight.

Fine video.

The game was explained clearly, Mike's simplified strategy was explained very well, Angela made the video compelling to view, - and the card graphics were a great help, very explanatory.

Can we assume these videos will have a link within WOO's game-specific pages?

Blah, sorry I didn't note this in my earlier scan of the video when I found the "ante bet"/"trips bet" title gaffe.

Simple strategy:

Video:
HE: 2.65% EOR: 0.64%

Your page:
HE: 2.43% EOR: 0.58%

Which is correct?

Either that or the dealers are not exactly Jeopardy caliber to begin with. Especially in the category of New York geography.

Thank you! Yes, I'll link them up on the Odds site soon. The site is in the end stages of a major upgrade right now and I'm trying to minimize updates until we reveal the "new look."

p.s. Happy pi day!
