iT has been a fun year to play craps, Up and down like most, but had
the opportunity to play with some great players.

It has also been fun on here, even my discourse with Ahigh was
fun.

I hope everyone has great christmas with family and friends, and that
the new year brings good health.

I look forward to seeing some of you in February.

So from Sue and I Merry Christmas and the happiest of new years.

Wow, thats a pretty strong statement.
I was just trying to be funny.
I dont have any problem with somebody saying Merry Christmas.
I simply choose to use Happy Holidays because in the spirit of Jesus, its an all inclusive term.
I am acknowledging Hanukkah, Kawansa, Festivus, Christmas, New Years, Tet, ect.

I've never understood the problem with saying "happy holidays." I'm wishing someone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, but with fewer words used. This is something that is going to make someone angry? Really? Bah, humbug.

You're quite welcome =)

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time. It's the holidays, there's a lot of that going around. But there's blood in your veins and breath in your lungs yet, so you're still able to attempt to fix whatever ails you. I wish you luck of it.

+1

I say happy holidays if its before Christmas or Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas if its on Christmas or right before.

Is t just me or dose this Christmas not seem a Christmassy? I'm just not getting that Vibe this year I'm not seeing as much decoration, hype, advertisements, Santa's. Perhaps i have yet to spend enough time in the malls. I went to a indoor swap meet that's usually full of vendors and people, it had a lot less vendors and was slow.

My plan, it's working!! /evil wringing of hands

In reality, I'm kind of pleased with Xmas this year. I've heard almost no music. I've seen no ads. My only experience to the season has been pure - decorating the tree with my son, building snow men and dressing him festively, decorating windows, baking cookies... all the things I hate I've so far managed to avoid.

Even shopping! Only one item I've bought says "Made in China". All the others are made from somewhere I could drive to in a day. Every single item was bought locally from a one off Mom and Pop shop. No retail box stores, no internet warehouses.

Yeah, I paid more. And Xmas won't be as "big". And I don't care. It'll be "better", and that's all that matters to Me.

Odd we don't have any depictions of him working as carpenter? Was he good with wood? Did he have a dog? What kind of grades did he get? Sports? Girlfriends? Did his mom, the Virgin Mary eventually lose her virginity? Oh, he's very white and was born late on the Dec 25 EST.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everybody!

By the way I didn't think it was a big shock that Jesus most likely was not born on Dec. 25th. It is a day chosen because it is near the winter equinox where gradually the days get a little longer. The Light of the World dawned on the world when Christ was born on whatever day it was, it just fits perfectly at Dec. 25th.

Also my dear brothers and sisters we have to be a little more careful when we try to say Jesus had 2 or 4 "brothers". That word can easily refer to close friends or followers as it does today, it can also refer to cousins and close family not necessarily brothers, and finally it could refer to children of Joseph if he was widowed before marrying Mary. The early tradition from the very beginning of Christianity is that May is ever-virgin. This means that she did not have any other children after Jesus, I mean really after giving birth to the Son of God do you really want to have other kids?

I love when people discuss myths like they really
happened. Jesus was born, but the virgin myth
predates that event by a thousand years in many
other religions.

There are lots of teenagers that get knocked up, claim it was from a god and then go on to have more children. I don't see why that would be a disincentive to have more children unless it was a very difficult childbirth.

My understanding is that his name was actually Joshua but due to the Greek translation, his name became Jesus.

I had hinted that I wanted a certificate stating that my kids would go with me to the pinball museum for 1/2 hour on our next trip, and I was sure that it was in an envelope in the tree, but nope, I got a nice leather jacket instead from Mrs. Q. And some sweater vests because I am becoming an old (well middle aged) fuddy duddy, but I like wearing them. We're headed to Caesars Windsor later today after we put the kids on a plane to California to visit their cousins out there, which is their DREAM gift.
