what are the odds of an all bet- rolling 2-6 and 8-12 before a 7. i know it pays 175-1, with a house edge, but how do you know the odds?

The odds are 123 to 1, making it a sucker bet AGAINST the house.*

*-not really, but if you look on Wizard of Odds Website, at https://wizardofodds.com/games/craps/appendix/5

Shows a house edge of more than 7 percent on each bet.

Check this page:
https://wizardofodds.com/games/craps/appendix/5/

There's a lot of craps bets listed, including the Small and Tall, followed by the All bets.

Did you get the number you were looking for?

Odds are a comparison of the number of ways one event can happen versus another. You simply need to set up a ratio of the two events.

The Wizard's page others have cited here shows the probability of winning the All bet as 0.005258 and the probability of losing as 0.994742. So the ratio of winning to losing is:

0.005258 to 0.994742

Divide both sides by 0.994742 and you get:

Odds of winning versus losing are 0.005286 to 1

Likewise, the ratio of losing to winning is:

0.994742 to 0.005258

Divide both sides by 0.005258 and you get:

Odds of losing versus winning are 189.186 to 1

So ... if the All bet were fair it would pay 189.186 to 1 but instead it pays 175 to 1.

That means the house takes 14.186 simoleons from your payoff. So the house advantage is:

14.186/189.186 ~ 7.5% (approximate due to rounding)

I use to enjoy this side bet but not anymore. I've noticed at M Life strip casinos that the payout has been reduced, resulting in a horrific house edge.

Small and Tall: wins pay 30 to 1, the house edge is 18.30%
All: wins pay 150 to 1, the house edge is 20.61%

I was wondering when they were going to either do away with this bet or change the payouts on it. Im not big on playing side bets, but I have seen all tall bet pay out many times. Far greater amount of times than the fire bet.

The first time I ever saw the bet in Mirage, I was shooting and I watch another guy playing it make nearly 25k on this side bet. He played 100 on all 3 bets (all tall, all small, all or nothing) I believe the payouts were 35-1, 35-1, 175-1. Of course, it was early in the morning and we were the only two people on the table. The dice were flying with rhythm and no stoppage. Lots of numbers.

Monte Carlo
maybe Circus Circus (they have some weird arrangement; think they're mostly m life)

Small-All-Tall now $5 minimum. Starting this week Mirage will raise the min from $1 per box to $5 each. Information relayed from a boxman last weekend. There was one dealer immediately after a shift change Saturday night that was confused and tried to require the higher minimum. Dealers lamented that if you want to know what will happen here [Mirage], just go to Aria, "We do everything Aria does." They said the min has been higher there for a while.

Side Note: Pai Gow Poker Fortune bet also going to $5 minimum.

Small-All-Tall now $5 minimum.

I saw the same thing two weeks ago at Beau Rivage in Biloxi. Seems as if the wager used to be $5 maximum. Not sure what the maximum is now (I didn't play it), but maybe the options are $5 or nothing. That would make it slightly simpler to keep the payouts straight for multiple bettors.

I wonder if this is being implemented as a "feature" of the game and will be this way everywhere soon.

Wow so instead of wasting 3 dollars you now waste $15. When I play i will bet this maybe one time when I roll for $3 but I think this will make me never play it.

I was playing last night in Hammond and since I was the shooter decided to go a dollar on each. I had a nice long roll and was only missing the two and the ten. The two came out and me and several others got paid our $35. The dealer asked if I wanted to go again on the small, and I laughed and said what are the chances of that happening again. My next six rolls were in this order: 2, 3, 5, 4, and 6. The dealers had a good laugh at me for not betting another dollar. I never did roll the ten.

I never play it but my husband will throw down 2-1-2 when he or I are shooting. I find I miss it when we are on a good roll and it is not being played. It serves as a nice way to keep track of progress and gives an escape when a Come bet hits crap. With enough people playing it really helps to bring the table together. Bean counters in charge.

Side Note: Also heard machine players are no longer going to get complementary drink service. Machines will "rate" your coin-in and issue drink tickets.

Was told this at Mirage so it will likely be Mlife wide before long. What's next, chair rental or is that included in the resort fee? "Do Plats get free chair rentals?"
(This will probably need its own thread, feel free, I never play machines.)

I was at Mandalay Bay for a show last week. There were six of us playing two slot machines and the waitress had no problem with six drinks. Everyone tipped her $2 each and she came back for round two very quickly. No meters there. Yet.

No meters in the main bar at Bellagio tonite.

Good News! The Golden Nugget in Biloxi becomes the first local casino to reduce payouts on the ATS bet! Now if they get really smart and increase minimums to $5 each segment, like The Beau down the street, we can have a faster game with less fleas.

ATS gets a ton of action in Milwaukee. About a year ago they it expanded to 4 of the 6 tables.

Still paying 35- and 175-1. The reset after a natural can take a while...

I used to calculate bets like these (All Small or All Tall in this case) using combinations, now I also like using the Poisson process, which is the integral over all time of:

(1-e^(-x/36)) * (1-e^(-x/18)) * (1-e^(-x/12)) * (1-e^(-x/9)) * (1-e^(-x/7.2)) * e^(-x/6) / 6

= 20,049 / 760,760

In case you need it, here's a proof that the integral from 0 to infinity of xn / ex dx = n! for all non-negative integers n.
