MY wife likes penny slots and I do play them now and then. But mostly when she plays
I walk around and watch as others that I know that I figured were reasonably smart
people shove $1,2,3,4,5 on each pull into a penny machine hoping to get the BONUS.

The BONUS is then going to make sure you get all your money back and then some.
Well if you also listen when you walk around it is not long until you hear the real talk
about that BONUS.... hell I just stuck in $200 and got a bonus of $4.95 or $8.50 and
many times nothing...

But the casino knows that allowing some one to win now and then and the bells
go off is enough to make every one sure the next BONUS is the big one.

The fire bet in craps is no different. Here it pays $1250 for a $5 bet (5 point). In itself
not a bad payoff... but what does it really cost. Saturday night I was watching
that cost and it came to me..... this is a penny slot mentality. I had just got back
from another casino 20 miles away. I made between $1000-$2000 on the table. I
was the only player there since there is no fire bet. At Bowler with the fire bet
were 12 players, crowded in around the table hollering that's 2 points , 3 more
and on and on. Over-all the table is bad, yet they keep buying in $300, $400
$500 on top of what they already had into the game. Most had more into
the game than they would have won had the fire bet hit because they are
betting $1-$5 on hit. Well the bonus never hit and one by one they
filtered away from the table, all their money spent chasing a "BONUS"
that never came.

The penny slot bonus for craps players.

I am pretty sure people don't keep playing just for the fire. Sure, it is fun to root for but never once have I seen someone rebuy because of the fire.

However, I will say the fire does make people go crazy when it hits. On Saturday we had a roll where the 5th number was lit. 6 people had $5 on it and I had $1. I layed the 10 for $150. I didn't take odds and I actually stopped making come bets. Was just sitting and waiting. These other people were going crazy. One guy was hopping the 10's for $10 on every roll. There were 9 rolls before the 7 out. I believe he probably lost money on the roll. There were other people who completely changed their betting all because of the fire people lit.
Expect the worst and you will never be disappointed. I AM NOT PART OF GWAE RADIO SHOW

Dicesitter,

I am guilty as charged. I don't bet the FB on everyone but I have to bet it on my friends else I would never hear the end of it. I have only won 2 5-point FBs, but each time it was sweet. I will allot a certain amount per session to the FB (just like buying a $1 lottery ticket) and if it is gone, then I stop betting the FB. I like the ALL bets better though because HE is only around 7% as opposed to 20+%.

If someone were able to influence the dice the fire bet would be a very player advantageous bet though... ;-)
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

Except we are not talking about a person that can influence the dice, we are talking
about the 12 people on that table and on similar tables all over the country.

A very good table 2o miles away is empty, a 16 footer with terrible bounce is
full.......... penny slots

At least you can get an advantage on some penny slots. I don't think is possible to do that on caps unless you are doing something funny or have some special promo.

point

The whole point is how smart the casino's are. People would never put the same
amount of money in a .25 slot with single double or triple bars, and craps players
I know would never throw as much money at a table without the fire bet.

The table I play at does not have it, but if it did and I played it, I would have
hit the five point Thursday and Saturday nights. Here the only table that
has it is a 16 foot table, way to long for my shot.

The same can be said for the ATS bet. Combine that with a $3 table minimum and you will always have a ton of shot takers buying in for $20...... or $37......... or $68.
