I was playing craps last night at Chinook Winds casino (sited overlooking the Pacific ocean: my favorite casino), standing immediately stick left.

The table was full when the guy to my left told his buddy to come squeeze in and join him.

So his drunken, clueless buddy joins him, drink in hand, and in squeezing in makes regular, nearly continuous contact with the left side of my body, pressing against me in his drunken stupor, never asking permission, just cluelessly existing in his alcohol-fueled stupor.

I was really tempted to push him away, using great force, just on general principle, but I didn't want to be 86'd or arrested, so I endured his inebriated, unwanted contact until I left in disgust after his equally clueless buddy continuously placed his hands on or near the layout as the dice were in the air, causing a table-wide chorus of "HANDS!"

Fell on deaf, drunken ears.

Casinos love Drunks. They seem to play much more irresponsibly when they are drunk. Read higher and stupid bets

Is there no law against the casino allowing drunk patron to gamble?

I had a extremely drunk fella plop down next to me playing VP ...so drunk that I was getting buzzed off the fumes from his breath.... got up walked away ..advised the security how drunk he was....within a few minutes a few supervisors and about 4 security guards were escorting the fella out of the casino.

I guess the Ontario gaming commission is very strict about allowing drunk patrons on the casino floor let alone making wagers of any kind

Wow. A Casino actually having integrity and not taking advantage of a drunk player? I am pleasantly surprised. :)

What if coilman had not alerted security ? I have seen poker players cut off, yet still allowed to play.

Now, I have a hunch where you live about. Kinda wondered where everyones at. Still remember the posts you sent me. You are far away from most casinos.

My location should be no mystery: just click on my profile.

It says "Portland."

Not the Portland with the moose: the one with the elk. :)

I don't mind rubbing elbows with people at a craps table, it's to be expected in a crowded game, but him leaning into me (at times for support, to keep from falling down) got irksome.

I suppose I could have told him to back off, but he was so hammered I doubt he'd understand.

After every player finished their turn rollling dem bones he threw the dealers a dollar chip as a tip, god only knows why.

That would have lasted about 7 seconds
with me. I have no reservations in dealing
with drunks. Standing on the toe of his
shoe would work wonders.

Alberta is the same way. We don't tolerate intoxication in the casino. There are varied levels of action that'll be taken, from restricting alcohol service, to cutting them off entirely. If they're no longer welcome to stay in the building due to impairment, we will find ways of getting them home.

That seems to be far from the norm at casinos.

Craps tables are crowded; that is fine. Some dumb drunk wanders up pulling bills out this pocket and making late bets then pulling bills out of that pocket and making late bets...and being unable to converse intelligently...that is annoying as heck...

Last week at Bally's LV, around 7am, there's about 5 guys around the craps table. I'm at one end next to the base dealer. There's a guy on the hook on the other side, obviously drunk, makings lots of late, stupid bets.

The dealer and I had a brief debate whether he was drunk already, or drunk still. We're laughing about it.

After a few rolls like this, he puts all his chips in a single stack on the field. But have been about 50 chips. It was such a sloppy stack, I'm surprised it didn't just fall over.

But I nodded to the stack, and said to the dealer, "Is it wrong of me to really wish for a six right now?" Mind you, the point is eight, and I've got money all over, so I'd win either way. The dealer gave me a brief smile. Here comes the roll... Six!

The drunk guy is busted and walks away. The dealer and I fist bump - after i get done laughing...

Generally 12 rolls when a hard headed player makes his case bet in the Field. Then they're positive that they've figured the game out and camp for the duration.

I feel for you Mr. V. When a table gets hot, it is amazing how folks will press in to get a piece of the action. Unfortunately, folks are getting bigger all the time, so similar to the Airline Seat conundrum, I wonder how much "real estate" on the rail is dedicated to each player? My assumption is two racks wide for each player, but is it only one when there is a crowd? I don't think even the biggest layouts support more than nine on a side.

One of the drawbacks of a shrinking market share (almost nil) here in Reno is the wishy washy 'tudes of the boxmen and floor bosses concerning bad behavior by drunk, ignorant boorish players (?) that make the whole table uncomfortable and pissed off. The old axiom from back in the day was "Letting customers get away with bad behavior runs off quality action." Those old timers were spot on, as usual.

A good dealer and/or table staff would be attentive to such intrusions correct the situation on their own.
I've colored-out and left the table on multiple occasions, then had the staff asked me why upon returning. In most instances staff generally replied with something like "you should have said something".

In the 80's, I was in Vegas and a guy and his girl step up to the table. He bets an she throws the dice.
She makes a point, and then as the dice are coming back to her, he starts rooting for a seven (with his money on the pass line)! I spoke up about how dense (not my words) he was rooting for a seven when he has the pass line and other players on the table bet the pass line as well. She SO's and they leave. The dealer starts laughing and mentions that staff is not allowed to make the comments I did.

A real awkward situation can arise when a Don't player who is brand new (or simply a boorish arse hole) who gets a couple of bets on the backline, then proceeds to holler "SEVEN" immediately following the shooter releasing the dice, repeatedly until "7" eventually shows. Most casino floor bosses would rather the crew ignore these ill mannered dorks, ( after all the house is hoping for a "7" most often, and feel if these jerks manage to spook a shooter into somehow roll a miss-out "7" , it's all good) In this case, players should consider informing these to the realities of table etiquette and the ever high cost of dental care which he'll soon need if he can't shut his "7" shouting pie hole.

Probably an ignorant question, I don't play at the craps table often, but isn't the number of players at the table limited by the player positions marked on the felt? And if so, isn't sufficient room given for the players? Perhaps tight, but manageable?

No, rather slots in the chips rack (around the top of the table) determine how many players and their position on the table (also the placement of chips in a particular area of the felt).

Eight people on each end (16 total) of a 12-ft table is literally elbow-to-elbow.

Actually, SEVEN on each side, is often a tight, sideways, belly-to-butt squeeze.
