The Pizza place has been there since the beginning. It's not new. There are a ton of places to eat around there. All of the SLS's food is unique -- they don't really have any crappy boring places to eat or chains.

Isn't the "800 degree" pizza place a chain?

It is a chain. There's another 800 degree pizza in Monte Carlo in Vegas area. Katsuza is banging, their food is really really good. Cleo and the Bazaar Meat is excellent as well. If you want good food come and dine at SLS on the weekend.

June 15: SLS goes to 10x on one table and 345x on the remaining tables (always 10x available) - first casino ever to feature different odds multiples dependent on table you are playing on

July 10: Wynn goes from 345x to 2x on the main floor and 345x in the high limit only ($100 min) - following SLS's lead to offer multiple odds configurations (per table) in one casino

No, SLS isn't the "first casino ever" to vary odds by table. For many years in Atlantic City many of the casinos had both "double odds" and "5x odds" tables, and it may still be this way.

Wynn isn't following SLS' lead. However, with 6:5 blackjack, first it was CET, then Sands went all-in on 6:5, then they were quickly followed by MGM and Wynn. This was lead-following (at best).

Thanks, and I edited my post to say what I was thinking at the time (I live in a Las Vegas, I admit I do forget sometimes there are craps tables in other places besides the ones in Nevada).

I apologize if I implied that the Wynn was copying a successful formula from the SLS. You are correct that it is likely coincidence that I expressed as a lead. However, I merely meant to point out that one event preceded the other event. In order for one to be "following" another per the success related to it, I think it would take more than a month to know how successful it might be to offer two sets of odds in the same casino.

It's possible that the move to double odds at the Wynn was known by someone at the SLS and they simply were following the Wynn's plan and executed first.

In either way, the SLS is leading here (they did it first) and that's what I wanted to point out.

Typically something this improbable begs the question of coincidence. I would be surprised if it's coincidence myself, but I don't know of any relationship between the two events except that the Wynn gave up some employees in order for the SLS to get off the ground.

Just an update on the SLS and/or Wynn craps presentation changes.

The Wynn has had double odds for several months now. They went from one craps table in the high limit room to two tables and they put both tables on the elevated area behind the bar. The Encore has a very small table that is awkward and is not operated 24/7 as the Wynn's 345x tables are.

Also, I saw a $100 table on the main floor. Those tables are still double odds. IE: 345x is ONLY AVAILABLE in the high limit room not on the main floor no matter what the minimum bets are.

What are the maximum wagers at the Wynn and SLS craps tables? Many thanks and regards. (I've always read Caesars Palace was $50,000.usd but never see this compared to the Wynn(and/or any others).

This was answered elsewhere, but $2000 max line on the 10x table and $5000 max line on the 345x table at SLS.

Max odds are

$20,000 on 10x
and $15,000 $20,000 $25,000 on the 345x table

As far as Caesar's, yes you can buy the four for $50,000 and get paid $97,500 and walk with the chips in less than 30 seconds if you roll your number and walk.

I would love to pay a $2,500 vigorish myself.

Thanks, however, I was more interested in the maximum's at the Wynn. When they wimped out on the odds, did they increase the line limit? May they crash and burn in Macau(without any deaths of course) and their attitude of divesting the customers as much and as quickly as possible. Also, we don't see the Boston property rushing upwards. Mr. Wynn is getting crushed stock price wise for being greedy and taking on the Chinese. Losing all credibility in the process.

It's only semantics but.......if you "buy the four" you would pay said vig before the roll correct? therefore get paid $100,000.usd and I'm sure they would check the dice carefully before paying you, and that might take longer than 30 seconds as several levels of management would have to eyeball said dice check and the winner. Sorry I should've been more clear. Word on the street is SLS would have to close soon.

Hopefully they can hold on long enough. I kinda like the SLS.

Hopefully they will start marketing better by running better promotions, better mail and offer better games.

I really do think they could grab a share of locals with proper marketing.

BTW it's hard for a VP player(perhaps slots and VBJ to) to play at the main bar with that light show going on above the bar. It gets to bright and then dark, the bright reflection from the machine glass is seriously annoying.

Anything that distracts or pulls a machine player out of "the zone" isn't good.

Hey, Aaron, I've used your guide in the past, very handy, especially with the demise of the nextshooter.com site, that also had a craps guide.

Does yours get updated? For instance, you had mentioned the $5 table near the Venetian's sports book, though that isn't reflected on your page.

Do you ever get a chance to revisit it?

About three months ago the owners said they would continue funding until December. This deal with W will give them some leverage to continue. They are selling off the profitable part of the property. The casino continues to be quiet daytime as they tend to attract convention people.
They have headhunted hosts from Stn + Westgate who have brought their list of "host worthy players".
I hope things improve as I enjoy the casino very much.

Sometimes if I lose a ton of money, I can chase and raise my comps resulting in free bets that are bigger than normal. But most people when they lose a ton of money they don't want to go right back to where that happened. They might rather go somewhere else.

I think a coupon campaign designed to attract losers with bigger than usual free bets at some place where they previously lost would be a good program.

Making a coupon to honor competitors coupons (that uses up this coupon so you can control how many times they do it per month).

The logic is that if the free bet is worth issuing (by a competing casino) it's worth honoring to transition the player to your casino.

I can't even imagine this has never been done before, and expect that it has or that it's not legal maybe if it hasn't.

The trick would be destroying the competitors coupon rendering it unusable, which can be tough for some locals casinos that use kiosks. But it would work for some others like SLS who don't use Kiosks for locals yet. And that's a start at least.

This has been done before on both table games and slots. SLS was matching other casino offers for a while in free play up to $1500 dropped to 1k including RFB. Not sure if they matched anything table related if you asked a host. I imagine for the right person they would.

Yeah, I have to come down to "I like the SLS too" and hope that they can continue.

But I do see that they are challenged to profit no matter how good the games are for the players, I don't go to Strat or even the Westgate nearly as often since SLS popped up. But I am also still a lifetime winner at the SLS and I imagine that there are enough other people who are also lifetime winners there too.

Maybe saying "screw the locals" and raise the limits attracting more of a crowd like the Cosmopolitan would work if they could get rid of the low-limit players it might help revenues.

I know when I go there, I can play a $5 game, get a red bull, and if I feel like having more than $25 on the table I will. But I don't always feel that way.

Give me a $25 table with a bunch of other people betting way bigger than me and I'm TOAST!
