Ever had this happen to you? Started out with just a passline bet and a $12 6. Shooter was rolling great, I got my 6 from $12 all the way to $60, I didn't even have a 5 at the start of the roll but I had a $15 come bet with $70 odds. I had my 9 pressed and 4 at $20 and 8 was the point.

This guy comes up to the table and asks me what the point is. Obviously he's a newbie since he could have seen that 8 was the point. I said "8", so he proceeds to put this giant stack of red chips all on the passline and he does it right after the shooter throws the dice. As he puts the big stack of red, the dice smashes into his chips, bounces off the chips and it's a 7 totally screwing up the roll.

So the shooter is on a great roll but you only got your $12 six pressed to $60?

IMO, if you don't have black chips on the table by the end of a great roll, you ain't playing the right way. [Then again, that's my opinion.]

Dice hitting newbies chips automatically causes a 7?

I always thought the odds remained the same no matter what.

Perhaps next time the vip guys that you don't like are playing. You should do what that newbie did, but you should also bet any seven.

A Pass Line player with multiple bets working, kept doing that on every roll when I was shooting from the Don'ts

The Stick and the dealers kept cautioning "Dice are out", "Watch your hands", but he didn't care.

Then, just as I started my backswing, I saw him trying to add chips to his Pass Line odds bet.

So, I deliberately let them fly low down the middle, and hit his hands.

I figured, maybe then he'd get the message.

It worked better than expected.

"Seven"

He looked up at his dealer as if to say "What happened?" and the dealer said one more time "Watch your hands" as he scooped away his chips.

Your experience seems much different than my own personal experience and also what others express here. The only time I have seen a roll declared as "no roll" for being short is if it lands somewhere on the table where a roll is disallowed automatically (the bank, for instance) OR if the player has been warned repeatedly about short tosses.

I've never seen them call "no roll" just because of a chip obstruction.

You seem to take a familiar tactic of going against the common experiences of the board...hmmm...I wonder if you are someone who we've seen before...

If I could read minds I would have never told him what the point is.

For those that were asking previously, this is why people reserve tables, and why there's a seven star/diamond table. It's to get away from these newbies that screw up the game. Most people that buy in for 25K don't want people like this slowing down the game.

A few months ago I was on a monster roll. I started with $52 cross and each number got from $10 (or $12) to over $100. Guy comes in and starts doing on every roll these super complicated hop bets that completely slowed down the game. There had to have been at least 10 minutes in between each roll while they figured out his payout as he hopped most of the numbers. Anyways shooter went out a few rolls after this guy got on the table. Maybe the shooter would have rolled for another 30 minutes had that guy not have showed up, or maybe he would have 7'd out immediately but it sure felt like this guy with all the stupid pointless hop bets took the air out of the tires.

That's one of my superstitions. Guys having a great roll and somebody comes up to the table and starts doing all these strange bets that completely slow the game down.

This is what I used to do -- aim for the person's hands. But I haven't played craps for a while [well once recently but that was cuz o'her reasons].

I've seen people deliberatly try to hit the person. Not like their hands or whatever, but aim for their face. I wouldn't do that, though. But damn, is it hilarious when people do do it.

I've never seen a 7 Stars table in Vegas. But I have seen high rollers with reserved tables and if a high roller is betting big he can have the table minimum raised. I once saw it raised to $100 but only on the side where the high roller was so no one would be on his side.

But come to think of it, if I were a high roller I would want the OTHER SIDE of the table restricted so that there would be no chips to hit.

As far as delays go -- I welcome them. As was pointed out, the longer the delays the better the comps and ratings. Every so often there is a player who goes through extensive rituals before throwing. When there is such a player I often joke with whoever is next to me -- "watch, his hand will last an hour, and we'll get just seven throws."

But I have to admit I was guilty of this once. I had five numbers on the fire bet and was working on the sixth. I took my sweet time so I could relax and breathe. I was the only player with a fire bet and it's because I opened that table -- the others at the table joined as I was making passes. When one of the players at the table asked a base dealer why I was taking so long, the dealer explained that if I hit the 6 I would win $10,000. All of the other players became very respectful then and no one was impatient. After all, they had money on the passline too. I did not make the 6 but I rolled a heck of a lot of 8s and 9s. And for those of you who are as superstitious as I am, my last three rolls before the 7 were 12, 2, 12.

Don't players do this all the time. There are several frequent darkside players at Caesars who will yell out "$25 don't come" from six feet away as they make their way to the table. I've never seen a darkside player "clean up" at Caesars. I've seen darkside players take the dice and establish a point and then 7-out while the rest of the table just watches without betting. I've also seen darkside players have to run to the ATM during their roll because they keep making passes.

What is really "funny" to me is that darkside players will bet the don'ts on other shooters, but when it's their turn to roll they suddenly become a right-way shooter? Are they DIs? Or do they think the dice will perform better for them than for the right-siders at the table?

There is entirely too much superstition in general in gaming some of it can be funny and joked about, but a lot of it has really started to grid my gears. My biggest pet peeve is when someone has the nerve to tell me how i should be betting my money or playing my game. If i wanna come up when there's a "hot roll" and throw down a 20 and play, I have every right to (typically I won't out of being courteous and wanting not to get into any altercations with other players). If I want to play blackjack mid shoe and i double on a 9 or hit my soft 18, I have every right to, and nobody ESPECIALLY THE DEALER, has any right telling me how i should play or criticize me AFTER the roll/deal as to "you should have done X because of Y". Hindsight is 20/20 and if you try to rub this in my face as a dealer, you'll get absolutely no tips from me. Superstitions and altercations with people really put a sour taste in my mouth when it comes to gambling anymore, and it's hard to find a place anymore that will let me play unbothered.

Some of the best rolls I've experienced have been when a darkside player is shooting. I bet bigger when someone's shooting from the don't.

The hands superstition is as true as Asian women drivers. That's all I'm going to say on that issue.

I just think it's a dumb comment. Sounds like if we hit a table where we got two rolls in four hours while we were getting rated, that would be awesome. Yeah, don't think so. Comps are always nice, but if the sole intent was to just sit around and not gamble, I'll opt for a different venue for a vacation. I'll never understand why someone makes a comment like that. His pick-up line kind of went like this

"Go away flea"
He rambled on
"I asked my computer what 1 plus 1 equals and it said
10.
I said no way is it a ten.

"But you look like a 10 to me, how about"
