I could care less about the color. I voted bigot :-)
Hmm now that I think about it.
How about tie dye or psychedelic. That would get my vote.
Its just a forum. Nothing here to get obsessed about.

Depending on the exact color, black chip may be hard to see. Therefore bad. Otherwise, I'd have to play on one before I vote.

I have a black Rio felt never used before that even has "triple" on the field marked for sale. Apparently it's petty rare. I got it from a dealer who got it when they stopped using black felts before all had been installed and he got this one unused.

Any casinos north of LV Blvd. could get away with using black felts. Las Vegas locals might appreciate that comment. The joke writes itself, and no it's not racial in nature-my 2nd grade teacher was a black woman.)

I wish all felts were the traditional green. Black is definitely out; hope I never see it. It's kind of like football fields becoming colors other than green. I don't like them, either. I don't understand this identifying a color with a race. With that thinking, Whites want white, Blacks black, etc. Dumb. Like some college football teams incorporating black into their uniforms. Ridiculous.

No. It's a different shade of green. Ditto for red.

No it's too small for my table which is why I'm selling it. I should have measured it first. Probably will end up putting it on e-bay.

Measuring the inside distance between the passline bars, on either side of the table, would be very helpful. I have a friend that is refurbishing an old DI table and would be interested. When you post on it Ebay please make mention.

Harrington Casino in DE uses black felt. There are white pock marks all over from the corners/edges of the dice hitting it.

I got my black Rio felt from a dealer I met at the opening day at the Cromwell who used to work at the Rio. That dealer is definitely aware of the fact that the Cromwell is just a $3,000 max-bet Harrah's game. 30-for-1, 15-for-1, 2/38 edge field bet, 345x odds. I mean why not just offer single odds, too? Or unlimited odds and pay them as a place bet?!?!

My hat is off to SLS. And yes, the table looks perfect.

Yes looks cool. But is it a good for the casinos? People get conformable to certain things, I know I avoid playing pool at places with strange felt colors. Also people are Superstitious. Just make sure no DI contest are held on Black felt tables. They will claim it through them off.

Becoming a distant memory, as it should.

Although I'm surprised they didn't put a different side bet in there, such as the Midway Bet (6-7-8)...

A long time ago back in the 80's I heard of a superstion that BLUE felt on any table was considered bad luck for the house.
Personally, no like the Black felt. I've seen Tan felt that looked good. And out west it keeps the desert theme going.
So bottle green or tan for me.
Some people need to reimagine their thinking.

Mohegan Sun CT has three casinos. One is called Casino Of The Wind. There, all the felts are blue. One dealer told me why: Because the wind blows.

But the way he said it, it sounded like he was saying: Because the (casino of the) wind blows.

Craps tables often do use felt. You can feel it.

Most other tables, and specifically poker tables where the cards need to slide easily, use a material called "speed cloth".

But 'felt' is still the generic term for casino table tops.

The photo from SLS seems to show 6/8 hardways paying at 10 to 1, and 4/10 hardways paying at 8 to 1. If I'm not making a math error, isn't that zero house edge?

Those bets are expressed as "x FOR 1" not "x TO 1" meaning they take your original wager then make the payout, instead of returning your original wager with the payout.

So, players who see a blue-felt Craps table and think that this stuporstition is their "little secret" will "feel lucky" and bet more and longer, all while the house discreetly trades knowing nods and high-fives. Brilliant!

Sounds awful for the dealers, some guy bets across with all hundreds that seems like a pain in the ass to keep track of. I'm not a dealer but I always try to look at things from their perspective. Personally I like the blue felted tables the best because blue is a calming color and I like to take it easy unless I hit something big.

I hated / hate every felt I've seen so far. Craps is the absolute worst. Something about the big, red "COME" on the green felt ravaged my colorblindness. Worst than not being able to see it clearly, it almost "flashes". I couldn't watch it on any of the plasmas as it made me nauseous and felt like it was trying to trigger a migraine.

As the Eye, I could not get over how superior B&W was. The detail, the clarity, every bit of it was better in B&W. I never used color if I could help it.

A slate grey felt with muted yellow writing would be my dream table. Barring that, stop mixing R/G/B.

Where are the big 6 and Big 8?

The big 6 and 8 are illegal in New Jersey by Gaming, as they are usurious when the lower house edge on the place bets are offered for the same action. An interesting curio.
