I know all 7s are an unwelcome sight when betting with the shooter, but which 7 do you especially dislike?

I have a theory about which one is the least liked.

voted for 6-1 because on my own rolls those are supposed to stay on axis and never be seen [g]

Definitely 6-1... I feel like when I see a 4 or 3 on the first dice I shudder because I know that 7 is coming. But when I see the 6 or 1 I feel safe and then BAM!! I always feel like I got sucker punched on a 6-1 seven

6-1 or 5-2. For some reason I don't mind the 4-3 as much.

6-1 is both my favorite and least favorite...
love to see that ace pop when I'm playing the don't...
But hate to see that 6 turn up when im playing the passline because it really limits the numbers you can make...

Actually you should be more afraid of the 1. Three out of six bad outcomes if you are a pass/come bettor :(

For my wife, it's the bar7, messing up a perfectly good trio of red 7s. It beats a blank, but still: 7-7-7 is better than 7-7-bar7.

My theory that 6-1 is the least favorite is confirmed!

Now, to figure out why it's the most disliked. Is it the contrast of the pips? Is it because the 1 is the worst number you can see on the come out roll?

Most players are do-side players. The sixes and the ones are very feared in general. On the comeout roll, if you see an ace on the first die, and you have a big passline bet, you lose 2/3rds of the time. If you see a six, making a ten point loses 1/3rd of the line bet in the form of a casino edge. Twelve is nobody's friend. Even 6-3 is sort of a bummer.

It's not just that the 6-1 seven out is so horrble, it's that when you see a six or a one and you play the do sides, it's RARELY good.

I think it's very straightforward that fewer 6's and 1's coming up and more of the other faces coming up leads to more wins for the player is fairly straightforward.

And therein lies the hatred for the 6-1. The 6's are hated and so are the 1's. And the 6-1's are hated the most!

A bit of exagerration.

When the point is on, a 1 or a 6 on the die will give you "numbers" (4-5-6-8-9-10) on 3 of 6 combinations. With the 6 up, you've got the yo that helps a come better, but only the 2-3-4 are helpful. The 5 is innocuous, and the 6 is a buzzkill. With the one up, it's the same 3 of 6 combinations are good.

a 2 or 5 have 4 good outcomes of 6, while a 3-4 has 5 good outcomes. So 3-4 doesn't bother me at all.

But no matter how the seven out comes, the odds of any seven out is the same at 1/3 each.

I voted for th 4-3 because if you roll either a 3 or a 4, you are guarenteed to make a place number if you don't seven out.

I use the cross-sixes set, and most of my 7s come 6-1 which means my dice stay on axis but rotate too much. Don't ask me which die rotates which way because I don't have a slo mo camera and this is at casino play, not on any home game.

I'm the dummy that tries to shoot for the Horn, so a six or a one on the first die is actually pretty exciting.

Favorite or least favorite reds are for finger snappers, conspiracy theorists, and axis shooters! I think everybody else feels a seven is a seven is a seven.

Last night at Fiesta Rancho around 8:15pm, a fellow snapper threw in two red chips and called out "tree way red, high on the foe-tree."

I suppose he had a preference.

Snapper=black craps player?

I played with a guy at Lady Luck Carruthersville, he would bet what sounded like "Heart of Gold" every third roll or so.

Took me until the end of the session to figure out he was betting 2-3 on the hop -- "Michael Jordan."

Yes, he was a black guy with a thick accent.

It's almost certainly coincidental, but whenever I play the dark side it seems that more often than not it's the 6-1 that wins me my don't pass/don't come. Second is 5-2, and I hardly ever seem to get my seven-out on 4-3.

So as a result of all that I actually like 6-1.

I do play light side too, but often my luck is such that I've played more dark side than light in the last couple trips.
