When you add the odds you still lose the same amount in the long run, but you can win in the short term. In the long term, you still lose unless you do something besides just flat betting and hoping to get lucky eventually.

If you really want to only be a Right Side Bettor, wait until the table appears "warm". Sure its an imprecise heat and one that is most definitely fickle but it can buy you some time before you lose your bankroll.

Craps is very cyclical; once you start losing....you usually keep losing. I have no fancy charts or extended mathematical formulas to show you; simply 13 years of playing Craps.
Take an extended break from the tables when things start heading south; your wallet will thank you!
In Vegas, I LOVE playing craps at MSS
In Reno, I LOVE playing craps at GSR (now)
In Vegas, I go $5 pass with 4x odds.
In Reno, I avoid playing the pass and just buy the point for $30 (for $1 vig)
I think I played 20 hours this weekend at GSR and I came out ahead $20 in the end...

My biggest downfall is overconfidence. When I detect that I am becoming too confident, I consciously try to override my behavior, but sometimes I *still* fail.
When you get lucky and you win, it is natural to become more confident because most of the things when you win it is a result of something besides luck.
Recognizing when something is the result of pure dumb luck and taking advantage of it by just taking the spoils instead of risking them is the hardest part of gambling.
Most gamblers don't want the money to spend on their life. They want the experience of gambling. Losing it all is just part of the experience that they desire.

This scene was fresh on my mind, but I was intent on getting through to the guy to wak.
He did, but I got in trouble with the casino for what I had to do to get him to leave because I was yelling and screaming at the guy according to the pit boss.
I'm not ready to talk about the details yet, but I may. It's possible that I am not welcome at that casino any more.
If I worked there, I absolutely would have been told, "YOU'RE FIRED."

There is a MUCH longer version to this story. I have no idea if the details will surface because there were not a lot of witnesses and I believe that both the casino and I have our reasons to keep the details private.
But long story short, I butted horns with the casino a bit.

You're a good man!!! I was in that situation two weeks ago when I was witness to my buddy's attempt to place all of his winnings on the field since we were about to leave. I wasn't vocal enough and he lost in all in one toss of the dice, "no field five!". But in this case even the box man and pit warned him not to. I'll be more like you next time.
The 3x-12 field is not bad for a one roll, even money big bet that resolves immediately. I'm actually a big fan of the occasional bold field bet, although I've never done it myself. I think I witnessed that.
I think one of the first couple weeks I was here I won $200, and I placed all my wins in the field at the end and rolled aces.
That was one of my FUNNEST winning moments ever.
Dumb luck is FUN FUN FUN!!!
I tried to recapture the "all wins in the field" play three or four times after that (none of them were aces or twelves though), but I stopped betting the field too years ago. I tip dealers in the field though.
I placed the 5 for $5 today for the first time in I don't know how long. I took it down before it hit though, and it was only active for one roll.

IMHO, there is no experience like being on a hot table in Atlantic City with mostly if not all, blue collar guys. The noise and thunder with each roll can't be duplicated in Las Vegas or elsewhere. I've seen same at Caesars twice, the table need two fills. Once at the Sands(I'm not sure it's even open now?)So my point is there isn't as much "negative" expectation in Atlantic City as perhaps Las Vegas or Singapore. People go there to win, often risking real money they have just worked hard to earn.
