e-Craps: $5 min, 3/4/5x odds, $700 bankroll.
(Was watching the Ravens playoff game, so just playing minimums.)

I *HATE* leaving all that $ on the table at the end of a long roll.

Was down to $500 then a long roll happened. Up to $1200!!!

Numbers were hitting. Started upping my flat bet to $7 then $10.

6's were hitting like crazy so started adding place bets: $12, 24, 48, 96. (didnt increase the place bet when the flat bet increased.)
with $10flat/50odds = $156 total on the 6. (Too bad the $96 place didnt hit.)
The 8 was at $10/50, and had $24 place = 84

the 4 and 10 were at $7/$21, 5/9 were at $10/40.
Then the 7 came. Left almost $400 on the table.

I *HATE* leaving all that $ on the table at the end of a long roll.

400/(400+700)= 36%. I left 1/3 of *MY* $ on the table. :(
Is there a way to mitigate that? or is that what Passline bettors are resigned to?

Whats the additional House Edge when i leave $400 on the table on a $700 win profit? (There has to be a way to calculate this.)

I don't quite get what you mean by leaving the money on the table.

btw I almost showed up for that [there was to be "Ravens freeplay" awarded, right?]

yes, ravens scored 31 pts. got $35 freeplay about 45min after end of game.
played one hand of bacarat (Banker). won. left.

to enter the freeplay, swipe your card anytime between 3:30pm and end of game.
so u could have came after they scored 21pts.

Some ways to avoid leaving too much money on the table is to press your bets slower (take more off the table on every roll), or to pull your bets down to the starting point again after a certain number of presses and then start pressing them up again. Depending on your timing and the length of the roll, you may or may not have more money on the rail at the end.

In other words, when you reach an amount on the table that you would not want to lose, pull some of it off, or at the very least, quit pressing and ride out the roll.

I recall being at a table when another shooter was having an incredbly long roll. "Long" was about 20 minutes. At 20 minutes, and several passes, I stopped pressing. Each number was already paying at least $100 and my passline bet was full odds.

My plan was that after five more numbers (a bit more than $500) I would regress my bet back to the table minimum as they hit -- it was a $25 table. My plan was to regress all the bets back to $25/30 and then once all the numbers were regressed to the table minimum I would resume with the basic press statregy of pressing each number as it hit.

It never got that way. As soon as I made my plan to regress -- it was seven out.

SEE. You ruined the shooter's 2 hour roll, by merely 'thinking' about planning for a 7 out.........

You think the SEC is made up of really smart people? The smart people were the ones telling the SEC that he was clearly doing something illegal. The SEC is a joke. Bureaucrats who don't understand how the market works -- they only know how to check that all the forms are filled out and filed correctly.

I was not talking about the SEC. I was talking about the intelligent investors, many of whom were heads of financial empires.

Almost unfailingly every time I am on a hot roll and I think "one more roll, then I'm pulling all my bets down" the next roll is a hand ending 7. Ironic how similar things happen in almost every Craps session...

Or, alternatively: "I'm having a bad feeling about this roll. Time to take my bets down. Hey look. There's the point. Sigh."

They are doing it again. You'll see me at halftime if it is a Ravens blowout! [or just a high scoring game on both sides]

actually, probably not, as I'd have to talk the wife into it, a monumental task. Going by myself with both of us off .... there would be payback.

I had the same feeling last weekend playing craps at GrandSierraResort...
I'd buy the pass-point and press it everytime shooter made there point...
$30 -> $50 -> $90 -> $150...alas, the $150 only hit once, which was pressed to $210 (didn't hit)
