Would it be safe to assume that I would be able to find a $25 craps table on a weekend night at the nicer places on the Las Vegas Strip? Or are table minimums higher then that? I am talking about hotels like the Bellagio, Wynn, Venetian, Ceasar's Palace, etc.

If it is not $25, how much would the table minimums be? $100? More?

Yes, and you should even be able to find a $10/$15 table if its not a super-busy weekend like SB, etc.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find a table minimum less than $15 at Caesars, Wynn, Venetian and probably Cosmopolitan. However, you might still get $10 at Bellagio, even on the busiest of weekends. While Bellagio is known as a high-end property, they often have lower minimums than you might expect.

To be honest, even mid-tier properties are going to $10 minimum Craps tables at most times. I've seen most properties offer $5 craps at some point during a week (outside the ones mentioned above). At peak times though, your best bets for lower than $10 minimums are Bill's, Casino Royale and possibly Excalibur. Of course, off-Strip you'll find low mins with higher odds regularly.

$100 craps?
PASS!

Played at a $100.usd min table years ago on a fight night at Caesars. Sugar Ray Leonard vs. Thomas Hearns. To my surprise, it was a hot table and full. It's sort of fun because everybody(it seemed) knew how to play the game and a lot of black guys wearing gold playing and shouting. Once in a lifetime experience. Don't knock it until you've tried it!

Stupid question, but I'm here....don't they usually go from $10.usd directly to $25.usd? I've never seen a $15. or $20.usd min table. Thanks. It's just a question, don't want to argue about it.

You can even find $10 tables at Caesars Palace now, even on a Saturday night, but perhaps only one or two. Most will be $25. Rarely have I seen greater than a $25 minimum except for a major holiday such as New Year's Eve. What is unfortunate is when some high roller reserves a table, the table is locked up, and all the other tables are jammed --- while Mr High Roller plays baccarat or something. That is exactly what happened last weeend.

Some of the old timer dealers still talk about the days of $100 minimum bets but I wonder if years ago players made as many bets as they do today.

When my Dad played craps in WWII there were two bets at craps -- pass or don't pass.

I've never seen $20, but $15 is more common than you'd think. It kind of doesn't make sense, since that's a lot of red on the table, but it happens. I guess it's like a $25 Pai Gow or Baccarat table. Why not just do $20 and eliminate the quarters?

You will find 10 dollar minimums at every place you mentioned on the weekend except Wynn and Venetian. Bellagio has a huge craps pit and will have plenty of ten dollar tables. Caesars will have one or two ten dollsr tables and Alan is right, high rollers will reserve the table for a high limit.

I think the atmosphere and skill at top notch venues is worth it.
A fifteen dollar table at the Bellagio beats a ten dollar table elsewhere even if the Bellagio table is a bit iffy as to whether it gets raised or not.

Flamingo is usually $15 minimum at their cheapest tables on Fridays and Saturdays, only goes down to $10 when they are less crowded.

I've never seen anything below $25 minimum at Cosmopolitan.

I usually find lots of $10 tables at Bellagio. I haven't seen a $15 table at Caesars in more than a year -- they're either $10 or $25 and I was there on 8/3-5 with no $15 tables anywhere.

$25 should get you play somewhere. The only time I have seen higher is when I was in the Bahamas the weekend before opening of Atlantis and the place was filled with super-high-income invitees. It was $50 and the table was jammed. At the time all I knew about craps was it used dice.

The Rio is no longer a "nice big casino"? When I used to stay there, it was all suites(big rooms actually) and the place was basically very nice for Americans, an upscale player base with everyone dressed with at least a polo shirt on, and even Larry Flynt of Hustler fame played there.

Rio is super-nice they have some of the best high-roller suites in Vegas (look for the "villas" when you are walking to the Penn & Teller Theater or the WSOP area).

Thanks for the update. I was surprised to read it wasn't. To each his own "nice". I usually won at Caesars Palace but never liked the rooms(old section, not the new tower which I know nothing about) or pool or dealers who hustled tips. Still, since I was a winner having RFB at Caesars was good enough. Those were the days.

The rio is a nice place, however it's not in the same league as Caesars, Wynn, Encore, Aria... All 5 star / upscale classy places.... as I believe the original poster was alluding to. For the price, you definitely cannot beat a room at the Rio in my opinion. They're so big and almost always cheap or free
