I'm thinking about making a trip to Florida to visit family and grandson. It's not a gambling trip. But the rooms look nice.

Do they have big screen TVs?

I don't know if they have big screens without knowing what you mean by that, but they all have flat screen HDTV's. You could always call and ask what the smallest possible screen size in a room is...if you talk to enough supervisors, eventually one of them will know the answer to the question. Maybe.

I'd assume probably something in the range of 32"-47", which I know is a pretty wide range, but that range of TV size and HDTV has become the standard for pretty much any standard room in most hotels these days, even economy hotels.

I meant like in a sportsbook. We have a couple of theater size screens. And many big screens. I'd say at least 70".

My thought is to sign up for a players card and just enough to get on their list for free night stays. The idea is to visit my family more often.

I have friends out of state who get all kinds of free offers to come to Reno

I don’t know what it takes to get a room comp offer there, but particularly weekends it could be quite a bit different from Reno considering the stark contrasts in markets. Reno plenty of competition, both local casinos and NorCal casinos are their competitors, Florida is a complete Seminole monopoly.

The Internet suggests a basic room costs between $250 and $500+ per night. Probably better to check for nearby hotels that offer a continuous shuttle. (I think some do.)

My understanding is that the Tampa casino offers BJ at $25 minimum bet, and they have people around each table 2 and 3 deep waiting for a seat. And rules, Rules, and MORE RULES. For example, only one hand on the table. Ever! Period!!

My info is not current, but I'll be surprised if you find it significantly different. Hopefully, others who gamble there can correct me if I've misspoken. Remember, it's a monopoly. Good luck to Moses

I'm sorry; you had mentioned rooms in your post, so I thought that was what you were asking about. I do not believe there are currently any live sportsbooks in the State of Florida whatsoever, so it would probably just be whatever TV's are around the bars and in the poker room.

I shot a text to someone who I think has probably been there and will update if I hear anything to the contrary of what I said above. I'm sure no sports betting in the entire state, at least, not legally. I haven't been to that one, just to the one in Hollywood (basically Miami) once. I don't recall that one having any huge screens, either.

There are big TVs screens in the Hard Rock Cafe in Tampa and they show sports on some of the screens. Usually any big games. Or local Florida game. You'd either have to sit at the bar and nurse a drink, or eat at a table. There's usually seats, but not a guarantee if for some reason they are busy.

Wow. $250 to $500 a night? I was hoping to get that for a week. I can get flights for $200 round trip.

Does anyone no if there is a covid entry rule still in effect for Florida?

Covid doesn't exist in FL. NO rules- it's a free state.

I wore a mask on my face exactly ZERO times in 2020, 2021, 2022.

They had people yelling at Seminole Casino guests walking around with no masks several months back.

But it's completely optional now.

*by yelling, I mean, yelling in the noisy casino, because they had to, to be heard more than a few feet away on the busy walkways.
