Came across this on Reddit - what do the minds herein think? (aside from the fact that this guy hit a 12 versus a dealer 6 lol (apparently, later in his post, he corrects and says the dealer must have had something other than a 6 as he would not have hit 12 v 6 lol))

Dealer mess up

IIRC, it’s illegal in Nevada to back-up a card. Idk about other states.

Yes dealer should never fix your own mistakes. But i believe a handful of pit bosses would do the same thing the dealer did

Yeah, they do it all the time. But that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s okay. Lots of shady s*** happens in the casino (from the employees) daily. Nothing new there.

I would ask all players at that point if the wish to remain in the hand, or take their bets back. Player 2 will obviously take their bet back because the card busted them. Player 1 will not get another card, but can bail out if he wishes. The rest of the table will most likely stay in the game with a dealer 6 showing, but they can bail before any additional cards are dealt if they wish.

And thats why they build casinos. Anyone staying in the hand holding a 12 or 13 v 6 without hole card information has a lot of studying to do. It's a -EV hand.
Any private business open to the PUBLIC (ie. droned out casinos) cannot have a criminal trespass enforced against an individual without GOOD CAUSE (Disruptive or Disorderly conduct). You will never go to prison for being thrown out of a casino for legal advantage play and then returning because it's simply unconstitutional 'as applied' to the individual. 'As applied' constitutional issues must FIRST be raised in DISTRICT COURT (trial court) to have it thrown out. You CANNOT raise it on APPEAL This is the best kept secret in the world of casinos not just in Vegas but everywhere in the country. Thank me later.

I had a guy think I was stupid for keeping a hand in of 19 vs 10 with a mid sized bet up. This was a count game and didn't have the HC info. I won the hand. 😁

I wouldn't do that. That procedure I would only do if like the dealers hole card got revealed, or dealer skipped over a bet(where then the missed spot will get their 2 cards and then the options are given) and other similar issues that happen pre-hand.

I would do what the dealer did (obviously in this scenario i would be the pit boss) and give the 12 a hit, he busts and just keep on going.

I guess rules and customs apply but the casino should try to correct the error so I would not burn the card but would in fact correct the dealer's mistake and carry on. If that meant summon the floor then so be it as long as it can be quickly resolved.

The policy or law in place about not being able to 'back up the cards' is completely ridiculous and the only thing it does is allow a rogue dealer to purposely screw an advantage player and ive had it happen to me already.

Dealer knew i was counting and as i was destroying the shoe and not tipping him, he purposely 'mis-dealt' to my 2 hands and forgot to give one of my hands a card and of course the cards couldnt be backed up and dealer got my face my card and i was given the option to stay in the hand or get out regarding my other hand and ended up losing that hand as well.

Ive also heard stories of other players also getting screwed by this and the dealer seeing the ace come out of the shoe and then coincidentally 'mis-dealing' and not being able to back up the cards.

Just another day in the corrupt world of casinos.

I once had a 13 vs 10 once sitting in the second spot. Guy at first waves off 16 but the dealer pulls the card anyway which happens to be an 8. The player says he waved it which all the others and dealer confirm. Supervisor says anyone can pull out of the hand of they wish but the 8 will be the next card. I naturally stay in an am allowed to double! Not all are as bad as you think.

Give which 12 a hit. The first one? Cant do that if you cant back up carfs like in most places. The second one? Not fair to him if that card should have been delivered to the first player.

You always want to attempt to lean towards the players with any dealer error. That is why you give anyone who wants to an option to get out of the hand with no loss.

Most places you are not allowed to back up a card,so I would do what Zcore said.

I have witnessed almost this exact situation. The dealer called their supervisor, and the supervisor removed the "bust" card from the second player's hand, and placed it on the front of the shoe (face down). The game then went back to player 1, who could remake his decision with total knowledge of the face down card's value. The second player could then do the same. They both passed of course, and the dealer busted which won them the hand.

I asked the supervisor about it, and he said that the casino was willing to concede advantage to the players for that hand in order to keep them happy. There were other players at the table as well, but they were in positions were previous to Player 1 and their hands were already decided.
