Looking for your opinion on how common 6/5 blackjack is in US Casinos. On a cruise forum I hang out there have been several thread from people complaining about 6/5 on the low limit tables on cruise ships. 25$ and up still has 3/2.

I was going to reply that this is very common at most casinos now. How "correct" is that statement though?

From my experience in Vegas it's becoming a common burden on the strip. Off strip you find less 6/5. In other areas of the country it's spotty. Some places have some 6/5, and others do not. Basically 6/5 is growing like a cancer spreading to more and more casinos each year.
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

I fixed it for ya.

Downtown/Fremont is almost as bad as the strip.

Outside of the tourist areas, it's not so bad, but even there, and elsewhere nationwide, where low limit 3:2 exists, it's living on borrowed time.

This question makes me think it'd be useful to make an interactive map of casinos with basic rules and HE across the US. I couldn't find if something similar has already been done, but the concept is basically using data like the Wizard's blackjack survey to make an interactive map across the US, like https://www.worldcasinodirectory.com/united-states/map
Websites like BatchGeo can make it very easy to implement, with crowdsourcing from this forum maybe it could be done! What do you guys think?

I think outside of Vegas it is a small portion, but growing. Maybe 10% of total games In the US. I would say in five years half the casinos across the country will be offering games less than 25 min bet will be 6/5 pay.

They have numbers for people willing to play 6/5, but the industry doesn't have any accurate data for the number of players who won't play in their casinos because of it, and how much those gamblers would have been spending in other places on the property that no longer are. It will be interesting where the industry places the blame for future revenue struggles. My guess is the word millennial will be involved somewhere. Pennsylvania seems to be doing just fine continuously breaking revenue records while offering a fair game, while their neighbors in Ohio and New Jersey follow the herd.

It doesn't matter whether it's 3:2, 6:5, or even money. The schlubs will lose all their money. All 6:5 does is gets the suckers money faster.

What would be the point of such a map? Perhaps I'm missing it, but I don't see where that would be all that helpful.

To my knowledge, 6:5 hasn't reared its ugly head in eastern WA state yet.

On my way back from Seattle yesterday, I stopped in Moses Lake, WA, mostly to visit the 10 Pin Brewery, which is housed in Papa's Sports Lounge & Casino, a small card room (no slots, roulette, craps). I had some lunch and then played some blackjack. Not only does the BJ pay 3:2, but it was a $3.00 minimum!! I played for about 45 minutes and walked away up $32.

Fair point, guess it's not the most helpful thing ever but I was thinking for APs who travel around different places it could help find the best spots. Or for any player if for example, you are traveling to a city that has many casinos and you quickly want to know which ones have good BJ tables... I don't know if all the places post the rules on their websites

I think for the Connecticut casinos 6:5 blackjack won't happen due to the arrival of stadium game playing for low limits. Rhode Island uses a mechanical game for low limit, too.

I think a more useful map would be one showing where all the Chinese pre-shuffled cards are being used.

NC,

I don't play BJ, so my info may be incorrect. But, based on my best recollection walking around casinos in the Biloxi, Mississippi, area, I believe 6/5 BJ is rare, even for low minimum bets. I'll be there in a week, and I'll try to verify which BJ payout is most common.

6/5 has taken some Biloxi casinos by storm over the summer.

Recently walked through HRH on a weekday while high limit was closed, there was not one real blackjack table open, including a $25 6/5 DD table. Two felts on the entire main floor were 3/2, rest were 6/5. The 3/2 table that was open was charging 0.25 per hand ante to play. The place deserves to be pushed into the ocean by a hurricane.

Beau had about 15 6/5 felts, up from maybe two the last time I was there. GN about 1/4 to 1/3 of felts were 6/5.

The disease hasn't spread beyond those three yet as far as I could tell.

Yikes!

I was last there in May. Guess I missed much of the summer switch-er-roo. Thanx for the update.
