You've got it exactly right. You won't have to worry about surrender because it won't be offered. What betting spread are you considering?

Naturally it's on a machine and shuffled every round. But it does exist.
As for the 7,7 & 10,4 vs 10 scenario, a few years ago while a friend and I were using the "bj pays 2:1" coupons at Casino Royale, I was in first and him second seat. This exact hand played out with me having the 7,7. I tucked the cards and then saw his 10,4. I told him you're in trouble because I have two 7's. He chuckled and scratched for a hit and I'm sure you can guess what he drew....
Yep, one of the two remaining 7's! Luckily for me, the dealer was stiff and busted.

Yeah, you have to bet in $10 increments as it rounds down. It's not worth chasing offers.
