Not sure about CET, but we can give out discretionary Slot Free Play and/or TG Promo Chips.

Nice! I would guess I was just a medium fish and didn't rate those. I was always surprised how much they offered. I've always felt over comped as it is, but it's a good feeling.

I was informed that my account showed I was at 550% comp (by the new host) meaning that I had been comped 5.5 times more than I should have lol. I guess Andrew was very good to me.

Several properties I have worked for calculate a 3 month average, not including the last month and base all offers on that.

Example: January offer is based on Sep-Oct-Nov. They cannot base it on December, or they would not be able to notify you in time for the first day of the month. That cushion month is used for lead time for marketing etc.

Very common method by my education from the player's side. I can think of some exceptions, mainly casinos that are "difficult" to get to.

My Caesars host back when I was Diamond did the same. I used to get comped way more than my offers stated that I should. He used to take care of everything when I checked out. We became friends and I found out when he quit Caesars that other hosts weren't as nice lol. I was informed that my account showed I was at 550% comp (by the new host) meaning that I had been comped 5.5 times more than I should have lol. I guess Andrew was very good to me.

To easy.

Acknowledging your much better knowledge, I will add that my 2 main hosts at 2 different companies were always able to override and augment my RFB and comps, and encouraged me to call them before coming. Like, Harrahs computer limited me to 5 nights once, but I was there for 8. The reservation agents were not empowered to change it. All I had to do was call my host and he overrode it in advance. They would also offer unadvertised tickets they happened to have on hand, add folio comps, and other things.

However, I never had one directly offer extra freeplay or cage cash so either I didn't rate discretionary money or they didn't have that capability.

I believe folio comps are usually items that are charged to your room and comped off at the end of your trip.

Folio comps, they post a dollar amount credit to the room in advance of your stay. They're generally good for anything in the hotel except tips - the gift shop, any bar, any restaurant, room service, shows on-site, etc.. You just sign the receipt to the room. They don't cost you points you've earned from play. And they don't carry over after you check out. Use or lose them.

They work especially well for people staying with you who don't gamble, because they can independently do things without money, and you can say, ok, you can go shopping, or drink poolside, but keep it under $400 or whatever, and go play while they amuse themselves. You just have to name them to the room, and they show a room card and maybe ID, and they can sign for stuff.

When you check out, they use the folio credits first, then take credits from your player's account, then evaluate your play during that stay to decide if they're going to comp the rest of that visit. Only then, will you have to pay any remaining balance.

Tuesday January 8th, 2019 was slot point multiplier day. As a Platinum card holder I could get from 5x to 19x multiplier on slot points earned that day. I got there a little before 6am converted several hundred dollar bills to TITO tickets so when 6am hit I would not waste time putting money into the machine. I went to the Kiosk to play the game at 6am. It was a pyramid type game where you have to choose a box on the bottom level that says move to next level where you could get a higher multiplier. Of course I busted out on the first choice and got a 5X multiplier. Oh well. Off to the play.

I played from 6am to about 7pm. Not the longest time I have spent playing video poker. I did plan ahead and got plenty of sleep the night before. Ironically, the only time I felt tired was when I was playing one machine when someone else wanted to play the other. That was about 3-4 hours out of the thirteen I was there.

My host came buy around 6:45pm and was surprised to see me. She said "I'm surprised to see you here. I thought you don't play in the evening." The woman playing next to me chimes in "He's been here since 6am." I asked my host to make reservations for me and a friend at the Borgata in a couple weeks. I got confirmation the next day of a comped suite on a Saturday and Sunday night with some food credit. Probably not a big feat in January as it is off season. But, comped is comped.

I did $195,972 coin in. That brought my average daily coin in to $557,781/5=$111,556

And here are the 11 jackpots I got.

8 hours of sleep was great and I find it easier to play 2 machines rather than 1. Always needing to make a decision keeps me awake. Playing 1 and the spinner activating then I gotta wait a few seconds that gets tiresome fast.

Do you ever play Triple Double?

I've played TDB single line 1 time at MGM. Lost 1k very quickly and swore to never play it again. I did play TDB a couple times in the past at the Turning Stone in NY. I think I broke even at it. I hit 2 $4,000 4AWAK. Neither place has the 99.58% version.

I always say I like to get to the outcome quicker but with TDB I can't take in the scenery it goes so fast.

Don't want to be accused of thread-jacking, but the other day, I watched the star of the Wizard's fastest VP player in action. 3 machines as fast as he could play them. He had been in action for 8 hours before I got there.

Was really fun just watching him. I saw no errors on the 2 machines I could see. I was playing the one next to him.

I play about 20 minutes and that is basically all I can take.

IGTs biggest mistake is not giving you the option of skipping the multiplier animation.

And even though it was a long session, 2 dealt Aces in the same day??? Teach me! Haha

Not much going on right now. Had to cancel 2 planned trips to MGM this past week due to unforeseen changes to my work schedule. However, I did get that new car. A 2019 Toyota Highlander.

And what would a new car be without a bobblehead for the dashboard?

Heading to The Borgata this weekend to see how much money I can lose at Multi Strike. I haven't been to Atlantic City in over 5 years. Can't wait to see what it's like now. I'll probably be underwhelmed.

variance of ddb = 44.
variance of multistrike is around 300!
but since you play many hands, it should avg out.

as for noir, they are using coin-in instead of points?
you get much less points per coin-in at md/nj vs vegas.
but if noir status is coin-in based, then Borgata's multi-strike is the game to play.

(This will be more of a trip report than the usual just posting of jackpot pictures. You will soon see why. Will be in 2 or 3 parts most likely)

Ok, so the morning of January 19, 2019 I plan on leaving my house at 6:20am, get gas at the local cheap gas station, then head to my friends house to pick him up, stop by MGM National Harbor to pick up my weekly freeplay, mystery freeplay for that day, and freeplay from the last slot point multiplier day then let him drive my nice new car to Atlantic City. He is considering buying one so I figured I would let him drive it long distance to see if he would like it. As I am about to leave he calls me saying he is ready. So, first change of plans. I decide to pick him up first then go get gas.

On the way to his house I barely avoid hitting a small person dressed all in dark clothes with no reflective material crossing the street in his neighborhood. I'm like "wtf is a kid doing out at 6:30am on a Saturday morning?"

I meet him at the top of his culdesac because if I pulled into his driveway his dog would wake everyone up with his barking.

Re-enactment of Bruno guarding the house:

Driving out of his neighborhood I see the same kid walking around and my friend says "Don't hit that old Chinese lady. She is always taking walks in the dark." I say "Yeah, I almost hit her on the way over."

Onto the gas station. This station, located on a corner so it has 2 entrances and 2 exits, is the cheapest gas in the area by far. Usually 15-30 cents a gallon cheaper than anyone else. Of course that means lines up the wazoo. So, I usually get gas after midnight on my way home from work. Well, 6:45am and only 3 other cars for 14 pumps. Not crowded at all. I pull in and notice something new. There are signs posted on the pumps of an arrow with "traffic" printed in the middle indicating traffic should go in a certain direction, not the way I was facing of course. I get out of the car and notice what looks like a metal chain link fence has been erected in the middle of the station. This fence would prevent me from leaving the way I came in so I new I would need to cut thru the McDonald's parking lot to get back on the road in the direction I wanted to go. I put my credit card into the pump and while it says authorizing the pump shuts off and says "please see clerk for assistance." Another customer next to me says that the attendant probably shut the pump off on me because I am facing the wrong way and the same thing happened to him the last time he was here.

So, I walked over to the attendant who was in his glass cage. I shrugged my shoulders and asked what was going on. His response was to walk over to a sign posted on the glass window that had an arrow pointing in the opposite direction and tap on it. So, I told him, in a not so pleasant voice, to go fornicate himself and I would never come here again. On my way back to the car the other customer politely reminded me it was the cheapest gas in the area and I said it was a matter of principle now and would never come here again.

After navigating my way out of that parking lot it was on to National Harbor.

At National Harbor my mystery free play which could range from $60-$10,000 turned out to be $150. Not terrible. My total free play I played thru 1 time was 150+175(weekly)+25(from daily Cold Hard Cash Kiosk game+300(from the last slot point multiplier = $650. Not a bad start. We left National Harbor and my friend took over the driving.

Now I could actually have time to read the car manual to figure out a few things. I won't bother you with those details as it was quite boring.

We got to Borgata around 11am. I told him to park in the garage but he preferred surface parking so we parked outside in the bitterly cold parking lot. Ocean side wind sucks, and blows.

We get to hotel check in where I find out that the hotel is over booked and my promised Fiore suite was apparently given to someone else but I was able to still get a free regular room comped. I haven't really played much there lately (I later found out the last time I hit a jackpot there was 2004, royal flush on 4x line on 25 cent multistrike, no pic, sorry).

Before I get to the gambling let me just say if you like Veal Parmigiana you must try it at Angeline restaurant in Borgata. I was actually not feeling well and not really hungry but was dragged there Sunday night for dinner by my friend. It was hands down the best I have ever had. It took the title from Bootlegger Bistro in Vegas. Half way thru I was no longer hungry but I did not want it to go to waste just because I was not feeling well so I forced myself to eat the rest of it. I am fairly certain any other food I would have been eating and not feeling well I would have stopped, but it was so good I just had to finish it.

On with the show.

25 cent STP Multi Strike 96 quarters for no gimping of the Royal Flush
Jackpot 22 January 19, 2019
$4,065

Jackpot 23 January 19, 2019
$2,060

Those were the only two jackpots I got on STP Multistrike. Missed on lots of good multipliers but if it were that easy they wouldn't offer the game. Played some more at STP and started losing badly and no connecting on multipliers so I switched to dollar Multi Strike only $20 a hand.

I got this to end the first night spitting distance away from even. That was good enough for me to stop just past midnight.

Jackpot 24 January 20, 2019
$6,425

Started gambling around 9am Sunday morning. Floundered at $1 Multi Strike for about 3 hours losing. Both my arms were very sore at this point as uprights are not ergonomic at all. Asked my friend where the one slant top was of multi Strike and went to play that at the $2 level.

Jackpot 25 January 20, 2019
$3,250

I was ahead for the trip at this point for the second time. Not much, but ahead is ahead.

After realizing, this I'm talking to my friend about how it's still possible that I could lose all the money I brought with me by the end of the night. He said there is no way I could lose even half of it. So I said, challenge accepted. My goal now was to win a lot or prove him wrong. This was our version of a double dog dare I suppose.

Also, before I hit the next jackpot this guy sits down right next to me and starts playing a crappy pay table game at 1 dollar coin a hand. After a minute he asks me "how many times do you get past the second level?" I respond in my normal gruff don't bother me voice "I don't track that" without turning my head towards him. After a few more minutes he got up and never returned. I can only assume he saw how much I was playing and what I had in the machine and thought he could play me.

Jackpot 26 January 20, 2019
$2,080

Now my arms were no longer sore but my legs were killing me as the chairs are locked a set distance away from the machine and no room to stick them in any comfortable position. Let the fidgeting begin.

Jackpot 27 January 20, 2019 (I was down the amount my friend said I couldn't lose AFTER hitting this, guess that makes me a winner)
$2,030

It's now around 11pm at night and I am running out of time. I know I need either one miracle hit or several small ones. Instead I get this fat b*st*rd sit right down next to me. I'm not sure what nationality he was but he and his buddy had thick accents I couldn't place. His buddy was asking him who can bring them more money. I assume so he could keep losing? So his buddy sits down 3 machines from me, gets on his phone and proceeds to pass a rather large amount of flatulence. I had to pause for a minute to regain my composure.

Jackpot -1 January 20, 2019
-$1,000,000 carbon tax

Final push now. I get the next four jackpots in about 1.5 hours and finish the trip less than $100 in the hole.

Jackpot 28 January 20, 2019
$1,620

Jackpot 29 January 21, 2019
$3,250

Jackpot 30 January 21, 2019
$3,250

Jackpot 31 January 21, 2019
$6,470

Total coin in $203,866

Even though I played $40 a hand for most of the trip, multi strike does play slow if your advancing levels.

When we leave Monday morning we get to my car and it is BITTERLY COLD! So cold that when we get to the parking lot exit to pay for the parking, well I mean show my platinum card for free parking, the windows are frozen shut. My friend, who is driving, opens the drivers side door and the wind whips up and the door flies open all the way really fast smashing into the toll booth causing this damage to my car.

At least I got the first scratch out of the way. Took about 2 weeks.

End of story.

aces with kicker = 2k x 2 = 4k quarters = $1000.
how did you get 16k quarters on a 2x line?

in the 2nd pic, how did you get 8k quarters on a 1x line?

and way back when I looked at the machines, I thought regular multi-strike was much better than stp multi-strike but don't remember why,
why did you choose stp multi-strike?

and way back when I looked at the machines, I thought regular multi-strike was much better than stp multi-strike but don't remember why,
why did you choose stp multi-strike?

Have to play 96 quarters instead to get full pay on royal flushes. It essentially makes it a dollar game since 24*4=96. It made for some interesting math. I tried STP Multi Strike to start thinking I could get out to a quick start one way or the other. When I kept missing on multiplied lines with the STP I said why am I wasting the extra 4 dollars and getting squat in return. That's when I switched to dollar multi strike for $20 a hand.

Another nice update! Im very used to the one way gas stations. Most Sam's Clubs are like this. But I've never heard the attendant blocking the transaction to make a dumb point.

Sorry about the car. :(

Yes, the $2 machines would be $40/spin. Sounds scarier than it was. Only did 203k over 2 full days of gambling. I can do that in 1 full day playing 2 machines at DSTP $21 each machine. Multi Strike coin thru isn't super fast.

lets do the math in getting 1 point.

your dstp machines is $35 coin-in = 1 point.
best machine is dstp 8/5 bp (99.67% return)
1 - .9967 = .0033
$35 x .0033 = 11.55 cents loss per point

best machine at $20 coin-in = 1 point is 9/6 ddb (99%).
1 - .99 = .01
$20 x .01 = 20 cents loss per point

no idea how much coin-in is a point at Borgata.
so cant tell about Multi-Strike.

for Platinum, I need 200k tier credits = 25k points
25k x $35 = $875k coin-in on the dstp machines

$875k x .0033 = $2887.50 expected loss

you said you were at 1,246,320 tier credits before Borgata.
it's 8tc per point, unless there is a TC multiplier special.
1,246,320 / 8 = 155790 points

155790 x $35 = $5,452,650 coin-in
$5452650 x .0033 = $18k expected loss

with your 20x dealt Royal, you are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of that.

800k tc more to Noir request = 100k points more = $3.5M more coin-in :o

I did $203,866 coin in at Borgata, according to my host. That translated to $135 slot dollars which is bounce back free play that expires 90 days after the trip it was earned. I also earned $339 in comps which are usable right away. I earned points that can be converted to free play but not sure what I had before I went there. It should be the same earning rate as MGM National Harbor. I think the only bonus of playing there is the bounce back free play but factoring in gas and tolls that $135 isn't that great.

Nothing spectacular but its information some may find useful.

Try going across the entire State of Pennsylvania next time. Going to be closer to $100 in tolls.

Even starting in Pittsburgh and getting off in Bensalem is (Page 13):

https://www.paturnpike.com/pdfs/tolls/tolls_2019/2019_Cash.pdf

Is going to be $44.20 each way, so there's $88.40. After that, you have the AC Expressway both ways and the $5 to come back in on the Ben Franklin Bridge, so there's $100 total, if not a little more.

I've heard they don't like to give noir out unless you have a $100k theo loss.

My host says she will submit my name at 2 million tier credits. I'm at 1,331,558 after AC. Not sure when I will hit 2 million. Should be before summer I would think. I plan on going twice in the next week. Hopefully I will get alot of coin in. I have the time but not sure if I'm able to play for a long period as I'm still under the weather.

Interesting and fun thread to read. Thanks for posting your trip reports, pictures, and all that. Actually interesting to read as it gets updated (as opposed to the normal ones that are posted like after the fact and then it’s over, or just a short period of time).

I obviously don’t know your financial situation, but I’d just say be careful about it. Especially after hitting that big jackpot a little while ago. It’s easy to say “I’m only going to gamble with X% of it and nothing more”....but then once that gets tapped out, to pull out money you weren’t planning on spending, then more and more. Especially if you’re getting into a habit of going 1-2 times a week and are playing as big as you are. Losing money you can afford isn’t a problem — it’s what happens after that. I’m not gonna lecture you and whatnot because I don’t know anything about your financial situation and all the other factors involved — just saying, be smart. Something to potentially think about, at the least.

Do you play anything other than the triple play DSTP DDB? Ultimate X, powerhouse poker, or any of those other variants? Hot roll poker is pretty fun and probably my favorite variant, since you get pretty frequent multipliers (1 in 6 or 1 in 7 spins IIRC) and get good multipliers too (average is 7x, between 2-12x [two dice roll probabilities]). Oh, triple wheel is fun too, but I’ve never found one that’s above 99% return (although TBH, I don’t know what the bonus feature is worth, in terms of return).

There are some others, but I don’t like those because they have a wonky strategy. Like the one where you can see the next card (peek & play?), split card poker, flip card poker, magic card, etc.

Edit: Totally blanked out on how you just posted up pics of multistrike. Oof

I really like Good Times Pay poker but I don't see it much other than at South Point. I always play it if I happen to be at South Point and they have good paytables. I love NSUD on Good Times Pay.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

Last year after hitting the 240k a friend talked me into playing deuces wild UX. I stopped after dropping over 4k at it rather quickly.

I have gone so many times and seen so many other players lose their collective behinds at various games at National Harbor over the last 2 years.

TDB - every time I get 4AWAK or 234WAK on DDB people will invariable tell me "you know, you would have gotten 4k instead of 2k or 2k instead of 800 if you played TDB. My response is usually 1 of the following:
1. The TDB here is not the 99.58% so I would have most likely run out of money before getting that jackpot.
2. Many of the players I've seen play TDB a year ago I rarely see any more playing at all. Why is that?
3. I'm very familiar with the swings of DDB and know what to expect as far as how bad it can get. TDB can get far worse due to the variance. I'd rather play longer with a chance of a decent jackpot than fizzle out quickly.

NSUD GTP - use to be my main game I played at Southpoint. I stopped playing that when I got into Quick Quads. I still remember my friend getting s 7x Royal on it for $7,000 after about 10 minutes of playing it. He hasn't played it since.

QQ Double Bonus - I played a lot of that at Southpoint last year at dollar level $60 a hand. Only played that high since I had the cash from the big hit. Usually I play that for quarters at $15 a hand. Didnt do well and wouldn't play at those stakes again without another big hit before hand. I would definately play for quarters though anytime.

Multi Strike- my go to game at Borgata. Dont think I would do the STP variant as the money drained quickly at that and kept whiffing on those 40x on the top line. Once for a 160k royal. That would have been a thread all it's own.

Powerhouse poker - they have crappy paytables at National Harbor so I have never played it.

Hot Roll - MGM NH has dollar 96 DDB at this. But at a minimum $30 a hand with high variance I don't think thats the game for me. There is one guy who has played a lot of it there 10 play for $100 a hand. I think the best jackpot he has gotten was 81k. Not sure if he plays it much any more. I saw same guy play $50 TDB for $250 a hand single line and lose his ass. Played super fast for about an hour of when I was playing DSTP and never had any hand pays. When he was done he sat there for a minute staring at the screen and let out a long slow sigh. He then stood and again looked at the screen letting out another long sigh. He then slowly walked away.

Today, Saturday January 26, I went to play and collect my mystery free play. Could range from $60-$10,000. I got $75, big whoop. I had to work until midnight the night before so I was only ably to get about 3.5 hours sleep. I got there around 6:30am and when I walked into the high limit room who do I see. . . . the Gigalo.

Who is the Gigalo you ask? Well, I don't know his name and I won't describe what he looks like as I don't want to get in trouble here. I will only say he is easily recognizable for a certain piece of unusual clothing he almost always wears in the casino. His modus operandi is to find a gambler who is actively playing a machine and chat them up. At some point he will ask for money as he did with me a long time ago. He lost $10 playing nickel video poker next to me (in high limit) and wanted $5 from me. He half mumbled it to see what I would do. I ignored him then and on the rare occasion he tries to talk to me since then I keep it short with 1 word replies. I saw he had his hooks into a couple people so I knew he wouldn't be bothering me.

On to the gambling.

I played about 3.75 hours total today. About 2 hours playing 2 machines until a retired couple came along and the wife asked how much longer I would be. I immediately offered the second machine as I do not want a reputation there of being an ass. Wife was happy and immediately started playing 5 cent 10 play JoB. Ugh, why do they insist on having 5 cent denominations on video poker in high limit? $2.50 is not high limit! But she was having fun so that's all that matters.

Lack of sleep combined with playing 1 machine did not bode well for a long playing day. I had no 4AWAK and no Royal Flushes but I still managed to come out ahead. Not a bad day at all.

Jackpot 32 January 26, 2019 After whiffing twice on dealt 222 with an 8x multiplier both times I get this off a pair

Jackpot 33 January 26, 2019 Only the third set of trips today I converted to a quad. Too bad I couldn't have done it on the 7 sets of 222 I had today.

Jackpot 34 January 26, 2019

Jackpot 35 January 26, 2019

Jackpot 36 January 26, 2019

I did about $52,437 coin in today. YTD total is now about $610,869 / 7trips =$87,267

I plan on going 1 more time this month. I should be able to bring up that average. I know what I am about to say will get some eyes rolling but I will say it anyways. I haven't had a Royal in 11,421 deals (34,263 hands) plus no Royals for all the play in 2 full days at Borgata. I have high hopes of a Royal my next trip, hopefully with a multiplier this time. Do I expect one? No. But my hopes are higher than they normally would be for getting a Royal Flush. Gambler's Fallacy? To some degree . . . yes. . .yes it is. But damn it. I'm gonna hope more than usual anyways.

congrats on hitting with high multipliers!
I would still play the bp version because of slightly higher return and mainly, less w2-g's. :)

"Only the third set of trips today I converted to a quad. Too bad I couldn't have done it on the 7 sets of 222 I had today."
I know math say's it's 1 in 23.5 chance of converting dealt trips to quads when you discard 2 cards but it is still aggravating when I am 0 for 5+
