Ok, as for offers to get me to come back.

I have had 3 similarly themed offers this year.

Offer 1 - Came to me after having not played much the previous 2 months due to my losing a lot the first 2 months of the year.

May 22nd email
Earn 3000 slot points from May 23 - June 5 and enjoy $350 in Bonus FREEPLAY® to use at any of your favorite participating slot machines.

Based on my tier level 1 point is about $26.20

about .44% return on video poker with $78,600 coin in. I did not go after this since my disposable cash at the time was lacking and I did not want to go for it and run out of money.

Offer 2 - came to me a day after I hit 4 Aces for $4000 on single line DDB, coincidence?

August 28th email
Earn 6800 slot points from August 29 - September 11 and enjoy $800 in Bonus FREEPLAY® to use at any of your favorite participating slot machines.

about .44% return on video poker with $178,160 coin in

I did go for this offer and made the coin in requirement. I was up about 20k from where I started while going for the points but had quite the losing streak at the end and only finished about 3k ahead. DSTP can be quite a vicious game. As can most video poker.

This is how I got 20k ahead:

Fast forward to today's email offer, 3 days after the big one

Earn 9600 slot points from September 26 - October 9 and enjoy $1000 in Bonus FREEPLAY® to use at any of your favorite participating slot machines.

about .40% return on video poker with $251,520 coin in

I do not plan on going for this. I can see losing 20k going for this and that would ruin my euphoria I still seem to be feeling 3 days later. This may change but it is highly doubtful at this point.

What's losing 20k among friends.
Expect the worst and you will never be disappointed. I AM NOT PART OF GWAE RADIO SHOW

Wow! Congratulations for proving this MLife sign wrong!

"Unicorns" are real!!! I hope I find one someday!

I've seen that a few times there. For some reason I find that more amusing now.

For those that might not get the joke, I've always personally called a 20X Royal the "Unicorn" along with some other Double STP fans. Even though I play it a lot less than I used to, it is still one of my favorite VP games. I've got the 20X twice (but NEVER 16X...weird), but only a high pair out of one of those 20X's. Doh.

How confident were you when you saw the 10X and 4 to a Royal that you were gonna get 20X? It's not a guarantee obviously, but with all those factors displayed you're much more than 1 in 48 for it to give you the dealt Royal on the final card.

I saw the first 4 royal cards fall then the multiplier activate, my first 2 thoughts which came simultaneously were to make sure I get this on video and make sure the guy next to me didn't interfere in any way. I grabbed for my phone initially then quickly stopped and hovered my hands over the buttons to make sure I held the cards. This was as I was leaning back rooting for the jack to fall when it stopped spinning. As soon as it dropped everything froze and locked. My only regret is I didn't get it on video as it racked up. I was too busy getting out of my chair and cursing for joy.

If you were getting the phone out, you probably were at least somewhat confident. ;) I would hate the nut punch if the 5th card was a brick, and I couldn't pull at least one Royal on the draw.

I went back this morning to scout out what I will try next. When I get there they had signs posted that they are doing system maintenance. I estimated 75% of the machines in the entire casino were dark. No interface at all on them, just a shell. The player card readers on the other 25% were non functional. So, definitely just a scouting trip. The only video poker still up and running were the 2 machines in the high limit room including the one I hit the big one on. Pay tables were not changed. But someone did play that game even after seeing what was just hit. Maybe they figured the machine was "hot". One of the games I was looking to switch to is one those two machines. Even if the card reader was working I would not have played since all cash outs for any amount would require a hand pay.

Before I start playing again though I need to scout all the machines there to see what else might be a possibility.

I do have to go back tonight to pick up a $100 bonus in freeplay that is only active until midnight tonight. Provided of course they are done with system maintenance. I'm not into conspiracy theories normally but this is the second time I have not been able to pick up 1 day bonus freeplay due to system problems. I lost out on $100 earlier in the year due to the kiosk game which generates it not working and I was not able to come back later in the day due to work commitments.

This is why I call my relationship with MGM National Harbor not a love/hate relationship but more of a love/slightly irritated one. That being said, they are getting better.

I went back that night to collect my $100 freeplay. Most of the machines that were down were up and running. Some people were still getting hand plays for $40 cashouts. Thankfully I did not have to go thru that on my freeplay.

One of the 2 good video poker machines in the high limit room had the "non volatile low ram" message of death. I had not seen it on that machine in a few months. I thought they had fixed it. Hopefully it gets fixed or there will be only 1 machine left with decent payables. And by decent I mean better than 9/6 DDB which by my estimate is on about a dozen or so machines scattered about.
