Readers have written me privately thanking me for my efforts to debunk systems, after they wasted years and much money believing the other way. It is not an easy thing to admit you were duped by system salesmen.

8 or 9 years ago, didn’t someone take you up on your $10k challenge that their system doesn’t work , blackjack it was in this case I believe , and it got to well over a million hands into the simulation before it finally turned negative ? I remember this but may not have the details exact

You never divulged the persons system, I guess that was part of the agreement. But I’ve always wondered how a system was able to even work for that length before going negative. Do you think there are systems out there for the basic games (bj, bacccarat , roullete, craps) that can work for over a million outcomes before failing

It was a $4,000 challenge. He demanded very liberal blackjack rules, with a house edge of 0.25% or so. Despite failing the challenge, he got more in $4,000 in sales as a result of the publicity, as I recall.

I'm not allowed to divulge the details. Besides, I forgot them anyway. It was a glorified progressive betting system.

With a big enough bet range, like 1 to a million, yes, a betting system can survive a million bets. You could flat bet one unit until you're near the end of the million bets and then go into a Martingale to recoup the losses.

Ok thanks. I did not realize it was a progressive betting system. I only remembered that you posted the number of hands it stayed positive for and I was very surprised any system lasted that long.

For the purposes of your challenge , I recall the max bet was within the same parameters as a casinos high limit table would allow

I guess that's plausible? Kind of statistically out there, but still possible, I guess. Somebody smarter than me can probably do the math on a run of 20 reds + 10 blacks.

It’s in the statistical ballpark of 30 BJ losses in a row. That was my only (mostly tongue in cheek) point.

I have not only seen it but bet on it

24 reds in a row followed by a series of straight black. I bet more and more on thd streak and made a good amount of money

That was Ceasars Atlantic City circa 2012 when I was just beginning my AP career

I caught a streak of straight red also at ceasars maybe 2 years later and walked away with $3500 starting with a $75 freebet. Probably should have been more but both times I was betting judiciously. I posted that second time on here. Here is the contemporaneous thread https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling/trip-reports/18987-caesars-ac-trip-report/

Something tells me its nowhere near the statistical aberration of 30 BJs in a row

something tells me that with substantially less than infinite bankroll and a complimentary limo to nye county, 30 BJs in a row could easily be achieved.

Maybe, if you're in Amsterdam or Thailand.

The system, a Marty, is explained in his book. I have it on Kindle.

The only thing I’d be interested in knowing about a blackjack Martingale system that succeeded beyond a million hands, is what min and max bet did the wizard allow him to use.

At $1/$10,000 it could withstand up to 13 straight losses absent of doing any splits and doubles.

There are people who claimed they lost 30 in a row.

Absolute bollocks. Watch my lips - there is no mathematical system that will ever reverse a negative EV. The only way to beat roulette is to clock the wheel and ball with either VB or a device. Simples. Take no notice of anyone who tells you otherwise
