Still in the process of completing my move to Idaho, but I did have the chance to make it down to Jackpot, NV where the closest live dealer table games are. Not impressed....about four casinos and only two of them offer table games. One didn't even have enough staff members to offer more than blackjack to players. Cactus Pete's was far and away the most serviceable casino in the area, and that is not saying much. Still walked away a winner thanks to the craps table though! Anyone else ever visited this town?

Check the Wizard's blog posts. He did a couple long and detailed reports on Jackpot a year or so ago.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

Like Wendover & Mesquite on a much smaller level. They play for Out of State tourists looking for action.

I love Cactus Pete's. One of my favorite casinos anywhere.

Cactus Pete's, or Cactus Petes, never has figured out whether its name should have an apostrophe or not. You can find as many signs one way there as the other.

Other than Bally's (which is sometimes seen as Ballys), I haven't noticed another casino with this type of orthographic problem.

Craps at Barton's is the only place I've played on a half table. One dealer and they put a barrier so you only throw half the table length. I got laughed at when I asked about getting a card there. They had an amazing single deck game that they dealt down to 15-20 cards.

Not a great town for craps players. On a weekday they closed down the craps table by the early evening and Barton's will only occasionally man it.

The Pioneer in Laughlin does the one dealer craps as well. Even if the entire side is full, that one dealer will retrieve the dice, pay off all bets and still declare "both dice must hit the back er, I mean, temporary wall sir!" My girlfriend thinks it's funny to grab the dice and shoot them at the wall on her side of the table.

Yeah they did have the half-wall set up at Cactus Petes. Only one stick-man at the table running the entire show with me and two other players.

What were the table limits? I have seen the half barrier at the Avi which is the Indian casino on the outskirts of Laughlin (and this on a short table to begin with), but the table limits were like $2 - $200.

I went up to Jackpot many years ago while trying to visit casinos in Northern Nevada and collect a chip from each. I had driven up so was surprised to see that Mountain time started before the border. Sadly it was at night so I didn't really see the town as I was heading back down the 93 to Wendover and Ely afterwards.

I visited Jackpot last year and thought Cactus Pete was a decent casino for being out in nowhere.

Caesars Palace is frequently misspelled with an apostrophe. There isn't one because everyone who enters is to be a Caesar.

The former Las Vegas Club called itself just the Vegas Club. However, as I recall, Gaming, as well as their own chips had the Las. I sometimes annoyed the staff their asking what their name was. The most frequent answers were:

1. I don't know
2.. I don't care
3. Both can be used interchangeably.

Its really odd. I have a fondness for the Pioneer in Laughlin because its website was the most thourough and clear explanation of the rules and procedures for Craps. Its a shame they have been reduced to a craps tub instead of a great big table.

NOTE: As to Jackpot, .... why don't you BUY a casino there, growth is geographically certain.
