They put all chips handled by players into a couple of poker chip racks and every 15 minutes, stop the game to clean and change those chips. (Again not a big deal, but slows the games down when they could literally wait until the end of the shoe).

Why not just offer gloves to anyone who wants them. They池e fairly cheap.

But if they are going thru such elaborate chip procedures, they must be doing temperature scans. Maybe it痴 some type of remote thing that you didn稚 see.

It also explains why there痴 no craps.

FYI. Yesterday they tweeted a promo, and I responded asking about craps. They confirmed still no craps and they don稚 have a projected opening date.

No table games allowed by order of Governor unless shields the gaming commission finds appropriate are in place.

That's prohibitive to Craps where you need access to throwing the dice. You probably won't see Craps in NY until after the Pandemic

I知 so glad I didn稚 go.

You have to did deep into their Covid FAQ page to learn that they haven稚 opened craps or roulette yet.

That's pretty garbage. I even went to the Table Games page on their website and it lists Craps and Roulette without mention of those games being temporarily closed. I don't know what the percentages are, (of sites that have them listed as closed on the Table Games page as a percentage of those that are closed) but a good many sites list those games as being closed on that page.

Vegas can get the plastic barriers up for craps tables, why can't New York? They might be on back order for a month or two. Roulette tables? I don't know. Maybe washing the chips every 15 minutes is a bit much.

The plastic barrier's I have seen so far (I haven't been to the Catskills yet) includes not just on the sides but in front of the face with an opening on the bottom for placing bets (think similar to a cashier cage).

If that is what NYS is requiring then Craps and Roulette (where wagers must be stretched across the table at arms length or where dice must be thrown at good velocity by the player) are non-starters

Craps barrier in a photo indicates barrier is between players and not a barrier to the table.

That痴 how the Borgata has its craps set up. It痴 slightly annoying at first but you get used to it.
