I was curious since I just found out recently that Rocky Gap publishes on the web a lot of information about their table games, including paytables.

So I wondered if the state of Maryland was pushing transparency or something. I checked Maryland Live today and found they also publish information, but without the paytables.

Are the Ultimate Texas Holdem Rules weird or what? I thought the game owner tried to limit the rule changes, but seems to me this is a completely different game than I've been playing unless I've gone stupid. What the? These changes in the rules are not covered at all at WoO so no telling how the game HE has changed. IMO this game should have a different name. Is it offered like this anywhere else? Worth a Wizard evaluation?

Check it out.

PS: Horseshoe Baltimore seems to have the regular rules. No paytable that I have found yet.

Looks like the Texas holdem bonus rules are in the uth spot. I think they do have both games, so not publishing the actual uth rules is probably not compliant.

It's a mistake. They published the rules for Texas Hold 'Em Bonus Poker under the heading for Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em.

Casinos may often post games rules on their sites to entice players to play. If you know how the game works, you might very well play the game.

Game rules are posted all over the place, namely at the Wizard of Odds, at state Gaming control board sites, on the how-to-play cards on game tables, etc. Game rules aren't hard to come by.

but specific paytables may be. Not that I am finding them. Exception: Rocky Gap

Shufflemaster used to list locations where you could find each game but they stopped doing that a few years ago.

That is really weird that they have the rules for Texas Hold'em Bonus listed under Ultimate Texas Hold'em. Maryland only has UTH. It does not have Texas Hold'em Bonus or Heads Up Hold'em. That is unless something has changed in the last few weeks. I don't see how the pay table could be different, it's a pretty straight forward game. The side bets may be different. I went to a Pennsylvania casino the other day and I think I noticed the trip bet paid 7-1 on a full house and I think it pays 8-1 in Maryland. I could be mistaken as i dont pay much attention to side bets. I did notice that on UTH and 3CP at Rocky Gap they do not have the $100,000 bonus for the 6 card super royal like they do at the Horseshoe. The pay table is otherwise the same so it seems that you are getting screwed out of the very small possibility that you could win that. Rocky Gap used to be a nice place. You could get $5 blackjack from a shoe. They now have all CSM's, even on the $25 table. A dealer at Charlestown told me he heard their blackjack rake has plummeted since they initiated that.

The 100,000 SuperRoyal bonus is/was proprietary to CET properties, built for them by SHFL. It started as a Million dollar bonus if you had it in diamonds, was only on 3CP to start. They have ended the million/diamonds part, but spread the bonus to other poker games. (I could be wrong, as this is second-hand info, but heard parts of it from both CET corporate and SHFL.)

THEB is a SHFL product, as is UTH. HUH is from Galaxy. For IP/proprietary reasons, THEB can share math/sidebets/procedures with UTH, but HUH has to be enough different that they don't violate each other's trademarks/patents. There are different paytables for most sidebets possible; it depends on what the casino wants on the game.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

For most games that is the case. For UTH and HUH I think It's a little different. I'm pretty sure Galaxy own the patent on the method of wagering for UTH. SHFL leases it (or purchased the rights for the game us)from Galaxy. That's why the two are so similar.

You may well be right, but I think that wager method goes back to the Crazy4 patent by SHFL, from about 2002. I had understood HUH was developed in response to the success of the UTH model, talking to Galaxy at G2E while playing the game. I could easily have misunderstood.
