My wife and I are planning on meeting up with some friends in AC in mid-Nov to celebrate a couple of birthdays. In the past we've always stayed at the Borgota but I decided to check the other Marina casino's room rates and see if there was a better deal. For the Saturday night in question the rates for a basic NS room with king bed are:
  • GN $300
  • Harrah's $340 (non-renovated) $380 (renovated)
  • Borgota $370 (comped rate)

I'm wondering if there is a down-side to going with the GN and saving some $$ for later use at the craps table. We're not looking for anything fancy (e.g., don't give a damn about the view) but a clean room is a must and stained carpets or peeling wall paper is a turn-off.
Any thoughts from folks with recent experiences staying at GN and/or Harrah's would be appreciated.

The basic GN rooms I've seen were in better shape than the ones at Harrah's.

Im guessing that is for a friday or saturday night and one night?

I've always thought borgata rooms were the nicest.

Not sure if its worth the extra 80... do you have other comps like free buffet and freeplay to make up the difference?

I've only stayed at GN of those three, I really like the rooms, no problem with cleanliness at all. Rooftop pool/hot tub are both pretty nice.

Has the Marina Tower been updated? I liked them for quick access to elevators from casino floor, but thought the rooms were totally run down. Haven't stayed in the Marina tower in 4 years, so out of the loop. Maybe you meant the Waterfront tower?

Another good point if the OP cares... I thought the hot tub area at GN was the nicest anywhere in AC.

Agree with several of the replies - based on past experiences Borgota has great rooms. However, since nobody seems to have any complaints with the Nuggets rooms, I'm thinking I'll give them a try and save the $70.

Yup, one Saturday night is the plan. I've got comps at Borg for both buffet and freeplay but I figure the two properties are so close we can sleep at GN even if we spend a large % of time at Borg.

Marina tower has not been updated, personally I wouldn't stay in those rooms. I've read numerous reviews of people taking showers and standing ankle deep in water when done. Something that has been going on for years. The Bayview tower has been updated in the last year or 2.

My fault I meant waterfront! They are very nice.
