I've never tried to take advantage of this by not playing and just sitting down, but I think you could get away with it. Harrah's (Caesar's) will give you drink vouchers. |

In a way, I think a sports bet is the best gambling value in the casino. Bet $20 on the Sheboygan Seahorses (or whomever), kick back, relax, watch the game, and slurp down several free drinks, all for an expected loss of $1. The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one. The happiness of credulity is a cheap and dangerous quality.---George Bernard Shaw |

Minimums vary from I guess as little as $.10 to as high as around $5 to receive a drink ticket. But if all you need is a betting ticket to get a free drink, a $2 show bet on the favorite for unlimited free drinks is probably the best deal in all of Vegas. |

You can get drink tickets for betting sports too. The minimum bet will vary, but I think $5-$20 is the usual range, the nicer the casino, the higher the minimum. Even at $20, you could bet both sides of a game, and end up with two drink tickets for a loss of $1. It's not whether you win or lose; it's whether or not you had a good bet. |

I'm referring to strip casinos, and unless it's changed in the last few months, here is a list of sportsbooks that would not comp me a drink unless I had a horse bet OR was betting $250+ on sports: Mandalay Paris MGM Grand Caesars Palace Venetian Mirage Maybe waitresses just don't like me... |

For example, their entry on Bally's does mention it will be easier to get a drink ticket with a horse bet than a sports bet. Solo venimos, solo nos vamos. Y aqui nos juntamos, juntos que estamos. |
