Hi I have been counting for about 6 months now and been successfull. To the point where I could see myself doing this for the next five years and into the future. My concern is I'm reading about this "war" on card counters and that card counting could be obsolete in the coming years. What is my fellow counters opinion on this subject?

You don't need to count to win. Just watch this video and do exactly what Al Kaufman "The Professor" is doing. His method is MARTY-Proof because he bets more than a marty system!

LOL. yeah. No need to double or split. It's so damned simple. don't worry if you lose, you still have seven bullets left.

I sincerely hope no-one ever took that idiot seriously.

You should go to his youtube channel and watch the rest of his videos. He is so stupid and bold. He literally tells people to give him money to gamble for them and if his methods don't work, you don't have to pay him. What kind of proposition is that? He also says he is funny and entertaining so we should hire him to a next event. His rate is $500. How about all the WoV forum members collect money to hire this clown at a next meet and grill him with questions and math to humiliate him. I also hope nobody falls for his trick. It's worse than martingale.

It will work until it doesn't. Lots of small wins but they pale beside the occasional loss.

This is true. It would be like going in with 1000 and leaving as soon as you have 1010. Lots of wins till you loss all 1000

Hi Plopplopfizfiz,

In my local, beatable Blackjack via counting is almost dead. 95% of all "blackjack" is CSM. Half of the remaining 5%, the penetration is not playable or has become so recently due to the Casino's counter-paranoia. Therefore, I figure there's only a couple years left for that in my local. On the other hand, in the US, I see more shoe games however a lot more heat in general. In my local, the general public doesn't see a difference between CSM "blackjack' and blackjack dealt from a shoe and so nobody complains over here.

One reason I have zero sympathy for the casinos in this matter is that in fact they could make it totally unprofitable to count cards anywhere; how is obviously well known.

These thoughts usually pop up in my head when there is a thread ranting about 6:5 BJ. If it is true that players have allowed this to grow and take over because they simply so rarely know any better, why haven't the casinos learned that there is also no reason to offer BJ games that can be counted? I can't square these two things: the growth of 6:5 and the felt need to offer countable BJ.

I wouldn't be surprised if the general public prefers continuous shuffle machines (CSMs) because they prevent players from "ruining the order of the cards" by entering mid-shoe. Also, players who walk up to CSM tables don't feel like they have to "wait" for a new shoe and can play right away.
In my opinion, some in the general public feel that card counters are bad for them because:
1. They sometimes "play wrong" and "make the table lose"
2. They have forced casinos to introduce 6:5BJ games
3. If they win money, they are "taking it from other players" by making them lose, forcing casinos to cut back on comps, change the rules, etc.

Just my thoughts. Replies appreciated.

Regarding points 2 and 3, no one has forced casinos to switch to 6:5 or cut comps and that really has nothing to do with counters. That is just short sighted casino greed trying to slaughter customers for the highest HE possible and not emphasizing the best way to retain repeat business.

Pennsylvania is all S17 LS, and is continually setting revenue highs. Offering fair games for the recreational player is working out for them, give them half a chance to win and they keep coming back.
