i am playing a blackjack game withrules as follows: eight deck shoe. all queens have been removed. dealer hits soft 17 . blackjack pays 3 to 2. the player automatically wins with any combination of cards equalling 21 (even if dealer has 21.) double on any combinnTion. surrender is alloowed. player mAy double or respiliit pairs. does theremoval of the queens makethis a bad game for the player?

Removing all queens is a consistent -4 to count. It increases the house edge by about 2%. 8D H17 is about 0.6%, so you are 2.6%. It looks like the only good rule for the player is that 21 is an automatic winner.

This game is crap.

I recall that a Spanish Deck is one with all the 10s removed, don't know about one with all the Queens removed, but perhaps you are playing some sort of Spanish-Variation and should be using a different Basic Strategy card?

Sounds like spanish 21 without any of the bonus payouts.

This is worse than 6:5.

Also, do 5-card 21's pay 3:2, 6-card 21's pay 2:1, 7-card 21's pay 3:1, and 6-7-8 pay 3:2, for example? Also, verify if you can surrender before the dealer checks for blackjack. I played that game on Carnival Cruises.

This is a Carnival Ship for sure and they have decided to offer a crap version of Spanish 21 which is can be a 0.42% HE game and screw the developer/distributor out of lease fees. I am a much bigger Royal Carribean Cruise line fan!
