This is sort of a question/comment.

But I'm pretty sure, practically anyone here, and a lot of people out there somewhere wonder where the activist group or groups are that could push to change some of the laws.

Er, uh, I'm sure I could find agreement on several ideas -- for instance, the wheel of fortune type wheels and all similar games, that like video poker tables should reflect actual spin odds, and be designed as such. (I'd personally vote for wheel poker to allow you to know what your odds are for instance as I've enjoyed playing that at times)

I'm just as sure there are other things many might not agree on, but surely there are some things a lot of people wish would change -- but I never read about any group or whatever pushing for some change. Am I just missing it?

I guess I have heard some of the pro (live) poker players talk about laws they'd like to see changed, but not sure what is done about it.
There's no secret. Just know what you're talking about before you open your mouth.

It does seem to me house edge, using fine print OK, ought to be posted or at least known on absolutely everything, but that sounds like a law that maybe would kick in once the casinos get back on their feet.

I have always felt that gamblers should have the right to know the rules of what they are playing. That would include having the right to request the virtual reel stripping for slot machines, and the house way in pai gow and pai gow poker.

...and the house way in pai gow and pai gow poker.

I've asked to see the little cheat sheet that the dealer has. Not only did they show it to me, but they explained the abbreviations.

The pit boss also told me that house way does not necessarily generate the best combination to win the most, but the best combination to lose the least. It's a subtle difference.

When you think about it, that makes sense. But then why wouldn't all casinos use the same method? Whatever.

I don't remember where it was. Either Foxwoods or Showboat AC. I.E. It was not one of the casinos listed in your Pai Gow Poker page for which you show the house way method.

I am no fan of increased government interference, but I agree with you about the right to know the rules of what you are playing! One more reason not to play slots! As the wiz said, the casino could provide people with the rules in the form of reel stripping / PARS so you could know what you are up against and can calculate house edge/standard deviation if you were so inclined.
