I was thinking that it's either purely the same chance as Player or Tie, 54.1% or it was 54.1% to the 8th power or 0.00738%. Any other thoughts?

Since it is the beginning of each shoe there is no conditional probability to deal with and each shoe is an independent event, just like flipping a coin. Flipping a coin heads 8 times is .5^(8) so let x be the probability of a tie such that the answer= x^8
