I'm setting up a coffee meeting for next Monday, 9/20. It's probably going to be a lunch thing.

The location the Wiz and I are discussing is about 3 miles West of the strip, on Sahara Ave.

Unless there is a problem, in addition to The Wiz and me, PaiGowDan will be there, as will the lawyer I'll probably use to patent my Hit It Again idea.

The exact location and time will be posted here, probably tomorrow.

Not that I would be welcome, and I will be in Denver, but I would love to sit down and meet you guys. I have great respect for what I read on here.

I'm not sure why avargov thinks he wouldn't be welcomed.

EVERYONE is invited.

The Date, time and location are set.

Monday 9/20, 11:30am until whenever. The location is a restaurant made famous on the Travel Channel (or was it Food Network?): Hash House A GoGo. Check out their website and menu: http://www.hashhouseagogo.com/

It's located on Sahara Avenue, at Rainbow Blvd, about 4 miles west of the Strip.

I really don't think that I wouldn't be welcome. I just don't want to sound presumptuous being fairly new to the board and all...

Nah, don't worry about it. This board hasn't been around that long anyway. It is just lunch, no big deal.

MathExtremist made a blog entry. It was signed "Stacy". Sigh. That's one of those names that can go either way, and I've always thought of MathExtremist as a man. Sorry if I'm in error....

At any rate, he says he's arriving in Vegas Monday at 2:00. Too late for the lunch. I'm VERY open minded to a second get-together.

And this is an open invitation, too. Just give me a call (or text might be better. I can't hear sh*t on a cell phone in a casino).

The big question is when & where.

I'm staying at the Imperial Palace, and have Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning tied up with a convention. Friday morning I have a meeting with a games distributor. I fly home Saturday at noon.

So, When & Where?

Heh, that's a rare observation. I get letters addressed "Ms." all the time.
You didn't look at my website, then? My picture, bio, and contact details are all there. I'll be in Las Vegas for two weeks.

I must have missed the entry where you posted the website.

I assumed you're a man because women aren't as good at math as men - certainly not generally good enough to be called a math extremist!

Greenland in Korea Town Plaza at Rainbow South and Spring Mountain Rd. is about 1.25 miles south on Rainbow from the Hash House a Go-Go. Korea Town Plaza anchors the western end of Chinatown (more of an Asia Town). You can drive back on Spring Mountain Rd. and see the whole chinatown if you want to pick up some good snacks for your room. Spring Mountain Road become the road that divides Treasure Island, Palazzo and Wynn when you reach the strip. It is 4 miles from Korea Town Plaza to Las Vegas Blvd.

There is also a Hash House a Go-Go in Imperial Palace and in San Diego.

I'd be open for another coffee or lunch. As always, I prefer the west side of town.

Stacy,
Lunch was great. Mike, Dave Miller, me, Ron, Frank [Paco], and Rich Newman [a big game patent lawyer] were all there.
We actually spent a lot of time enjoying Dave's accounts of some Weddings he officiated at; some beautiful stories, as well as some hysterical horror shows. Food was great - plentyful and delicious. It was a two hour lunch meet.

Still waiting for Dave to post the pix. Mike's on the tractor, you'll see....

Hi gang!

Greetings from beautiful, downtown Las Vegas!

I'm at McCarran, waiting for my flight out. I can't wait to get the hell out of Dodge. Can you tell that my gambling did not go too well?

Lunch WAS great.

There was supposed to be four of us, but we ended up being six. Dan and I arrived a few minutes before Mike. While we were waiting for Rich, a guy comes up and asks, are you Mike? I assumed that it was just some fan that recognized him from the Travel Channel Vegas shows. Nope. It's a guy who has been lurking on this site without posting, for quite some time. Ronnie from Florida, makes a trip to Vegas every few months. He was very nice about not wanting to butt in, and only wanted to say hello to all of us. We insisted he join us.

A few minutes later, another person who didn't RSVP shows up. Frank 'Paco' Martin!

A little later Rich shows up.

We spent about 2 hours just hanging and bullshitting. Yeah, I relayed some of my DJ and Reverend stories. I can't remember all we talked about. Funny thing was, I thought we'd talk some about my Hit It Again idea, or at least about gambling in general, but that wasn't discussed much at all! No big deal. The real point of the meeting was just to meet. I'd have plenty of time to discuss my idea here at WoV, and in Rich's office.

At one point I handed everyone an envelope with a copy of my proposal, and we discussed it briefly. That's the envelope you see some of the guys holding in these photos. Click the photo for high-res:

Sigh. I had planned on taking another photo, one where we all were making the "T" sign. But right when the second photo was being shot, I got a phone call from a bride who wanted to book me. I didn't remember the third photo until after we all parted. Oh, well.

The Hash House A GoGo uses a tractor in it's logo, so I suggested we take the photo in front of their tractor. Mike was like a kid on a fire engine when we approached it!

Sitting in the tractor is Mike "The Wizard of Odds" Shackleford.
Standing are Frank "Paco" Martin and attorney Rich Newman.
Seated are "Pai Gow" Dan Lubin, Reverend Dave "DJ Teddy Bear" Miller and Ronnie, whose full name is currently on a piece of paper in my luggage.

FYI: If you're interested, here's Rich Newman's bio.

Yikes indeed!

I'm suddenly glad I inserted 'generally' into that statement.

No offense intended. Just a badly worded statement based upon a stereotype.

She'll put her dog on me? No problem. I love dogs!
