What does this hand gesture mean?

As my dad says, "White people only get a period of five years to be cool." I'm afraid we're well past the period of being cool (as if I ever was cool in the first place).

That may be the wisest thing I've read all week. My five years ran out circa 2007 when my hairline began to take flight and I started buying shoes based purely on comfort.

Notable exceptions to the rule include rock stars like Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joe Armstrong and Eddie Vedder.

I remarked that I'd love to get a picture of them, but didn't have the guts to ask. So the lone female in our group volunteered. She had to run about 50 yards to catch up to them.
"Hi there. My friend back there would like to snap your photo. If you don't mind could y'all pose doing the letter "T" with your hands, it will drive him crazy for a week wondering why you did the letter T".

If you were eating at the Chinese place @ the 600 block of W 200S, then there is a good chance the "T" stands for "Trance" or "Techno", since there is a pretty big (as SLC clubs go) night club nearby (In The Venue). Of course it could also stand for "Transgender/Transvestite" depending on what night/day you were there as the club also serves as a gathering place for that community too.

Hmm. A search turned up the Area 51 Club in that area, but no clues from the web site about the T thing. I have to admit the "Transgender/Transvestite" theory never crossed my mind.
It's not whether you win or lose; it's whether or not you had a good bet.

Dang! Maybe I wasn't so far out of bounds as I thought I was (back on page 1 of the thread). Guess Utah may not be quite the way I thought.

Are you sure they are girls? Symbol for Transvestite, perhaps?

Oh, my mistake. You said "Utah", not "Las Vegas".

A lot of times the hand symbols look innocent. This cute little cheerleader seems to be doing something like the Vulcan Salute to "Live Long and Prosper".

The Gateway mall is in the background, so it looks like the photo was taken on the corner of W200 S and S 5th W. The club is at the end of the block behind the camerawoman.

That "cute little cheerleader" might have a different definition then you can even imagine!!! Even though that is the the nickname of Wichita State University......

Shocker

No offense to anyone, I'm >50y and was "informed" by some youngsters at work as to the real meaning.

Forgive the crudeness of my posting, I'm just trying to keep everyone up to date and "cool".

I really think that nailed it.

"something like" is very key. Even in that drawing, Spock is NOT doing the 'Vulcan Salute'. (The Vulcan Salute is just the thumb, index and pinky.)

I'm pretty sure it is a sort of invitation.

"We liked to be T-bagged"

Jeez. Is it going to be my burden to be the only perv on this board!

Yes, I am kidding about the meaning. I like the "Transvestite Power" as a better guess, especially because the tall one in yellow is sporting an obvious package.
