Thanks. 11 minutes to go!

Sadly, no. It would have required simply too much time and expense. However, it is still on my bucket list.

I am an idiot!!!!

To share the questions with you guys I set the screen capture software to video mode, something I very rarely do. All seemed to be going fine watching the countdown, but when the questions started I couldn't enter anything into the field for the answer. Instead of an arrow for a cursor I got a circle. I think there is something with the video capture software that doesn't let me record anything I do on the keyboard.

Anyway, I don't think I would have done well anyway. At least I would have got the Vegas and Spanish questions right. Stay tuned for the quiz.

Doggone it, Wiz! Sorry to hear your tech pfaffed up. I was able to get through the test normally and it appeared to accept my answers. I don't know who the Danish explorer of Siberia in 1724 or whatever the 1st question was, and that fritzed my brain slightly, but I would estimate I got 40-42 questions for sure, probably 3-4 more were correct, and about 5 I went..."WTF?". No idea how that might compare with their cutoff, but I'm thinking 84-90% for my score, not more, and 90's optimistic. I think you would have been competitive with that.

I went, Vegas? Oh, yeah, the Steve Wynn question. Was there another?

EB; my IQ points've been busy swelling my genitalia the last few days, so I'm feeling rather dense and slow. A person needs a clear, unlustful head to concentrate on facts like BABY GIRL NAMES (WIZ!! could you believe that was there?) - I hope "Emma" was correct - and all the chip chick opportunities I've been ignoring until I got wized up here have overwhelmed me with lust for rich and powerful men to the detriment of my sensibilities.

On to more important things; back to exploring Biloxi for hot sidebet pickups! Trip reports to follow, probably within this week.

Re: the Danish explorer. It was a "d'oh" question when I googled it. One of those that if your brain was in puzzle mode you could have sussed it out through logically putting the key words together. But not a factoid in my personal filofax, so a likely name didn't pop into my head. Reverse engineering would have solved it, but my brain was not in that mode; might have come to me had I seen it later in the test, when the neurosynapses were popping better.

Just took the test... Estimate I got 40 of the 50 correct. I will give you an exact number once J Archive posts the questions. Hope that is good enough to get back to the written test.

I just took it. I think these were harder than on normal Jeopardy shows, which I routinely shout out the answers to. I know I got about 10 right out of 50. Embarrassing.

Well, I am not sure. The last two times I took the test and got invited to the next step, I scored over 45. But I have read in Bob Harris's excellent book Prisoner of Trebekistan that 35 out of 50 is considered the minimum to pass the first test.

So, hopefully that's still true and my 41 is good enough to get me to an audition for the third time.

Bob clearly feeds on negativity. It's why he's always talking about schadenfreude. And he does a great job about skirting the rules so he's pretty much always within the letter of the law.

Anyway, I just sit back because he usually has some good posts. Just ignore the ones that bother you, and don't engage him in argument because he won't let you win and you'll just end up infuriated.

You are a better man then I am when it comes to sitting back. Perhaps that's just a personality thing.

It was good advice you gave and I appreciate it. As we all know its hard to ignore some people. Blocking people who post often and are quoted , makes things jumbled. I rarely get infuriated. People that enjoy schadenfreude often live in the past, because that's all they have. They are jealous because they failed where others have succeeded, it's hard when you think you know everything, but failed at the things you wanted most, and just cant admit it.

Gee, and I thought -10 was more appropriate. EvenBob has every right to be EvenBob. Not an easy job at all.

Now I am starting to remember why I divorced Babs.

As Mark twain said : " A man who says he understands women, will lie about other things too ! "
Shed not for her the bitter tear Nor give the heart to vain regret Tis but the casket that lies here, The gem that filled it Sparkles yet

I never seen a Jeopardy show where I looked at the person and thought what an ass/Idiot.

For me at least, there would be a small risk of having a super-nerd moment that subsequently goes viral on YouTube ... something like if I try to be clever during the interview segment and accidentally snort while laughing at my own joke.

But as you noted, that's not necessarily a disaster because:

I have seen people on reality shows make complete asses of themselves....... all the way to the bank and popularity.

I have, many times. What a moron, I say to myself.
And if it was somebody I knew it would be triple moron.
TV audiences love to see contestants make fools of
themselves.

Has it ever occurred to you that not everyone is like you?

Has it occurred to you that there are more
people like me than not? Why do you think
these examples are all over Youtube with
lots of hits, because people don't enjoy
seeing others fail? I make fun of schaden
all the time because people love to see
others in embarrassing situations. Look
at that video B9 posted today of the kid
getting his leg caught in the basketball hoop.
They're laughing their asses off at his
screams. It's human nature.
