I'll be there April 5-8 checking out the Aria. I'd love to meet the Wizard again, since the last meeting was much too short.

Thanks for all the encouragement. It looks like there aren't enough people to make it a regular thing yet. However, I'll do my best to come down if any active members are in town. If I'm running very busy, and have no other reason to come to the Strip, I may invite you to come out my way on the west side of town.

I think DJTeddyBear said it best with "WOW". This is above and beyond anything that I would have wished for. Having got that out now...

For many of us Las Vegas is a destination rather than a local stomping ground. It would be difficult for us to participate on a "regular" basis. However, When we are in town it would be an honor to meet "The great and powerful Odds" (that sounded corny, but was intended with all due respect to your moniker).

A regular coffee gathering for the locals would be fine, but for us out-of-town travelers a simple posting of regular appearances to which we could adjust our itineraries to accommodate a pow-wow would be more useful. This brings me to a suggestion for the forum... Please add a "Member Meet-N-Greet" topic where members can post their tentative trip dates and then based on that others can propose a meeting if they're there at the same time. I have read many posts over the last few months and thought "that person thinks the way I do, it would be nice to meet him/her". On the flip side there have been a few posts where I've thought "What kind of person thinks that way? I would be interesting to meet them and see if they are like that in person or just when they have the luxury of anonymity."
Phil: I'm pretty sure that's illegal too. Alan: Yeah, maybe after 9/11, where everybody got so sensitive. Thanks a lot, bin Laden.

these are my thoughts exactly. obviously the wizard has a huge following who would jump to the chance of meeting him and others who have similar interest. but the difficulty would be for the out of towners who can't make these get togethers on specific dates and times. something like a 'calendar of events' to help with planning might help.

I would agree, and given enough notice I could rearrange a trip to meet the other forum regulars in person.

Darn. I would have liked to attend this. My wife and I fly in from Canada on the 14th so we're too late.

When I finally make it to Vegas, I HAVE to meet the Wizard! No clue when that'll be.

Again, I'm happy to try to meet up with any frequent contributors to the site. You may have to send me a reminder via the contact form. I'm going to be out of town March 29-April 4, just FYI.
It's not whether you win or lose; it's whether or not you had a good bet.

Hey Wiz, where do you hang on the west side of town? I live on the north west side and I would like to meet you sometime. I usually play at the Rampart which is close and easy for me, but I am flexible.

Would love to meet the man who taught me how to play Pai Gow Tiles, the greatest casino game. You've made me an anomaly: a white guy who plays dominos!! I'll be in town April 17-19 and again June 19-22. Just let me know a time and place. I owe you big time!
