Preparing for my first visit to Vegas to play 3:2 blackjack, I memorized the 21-cell Wizard's Simple BJ Strategy. This worked well for several days, until I started coming up with too many errors (on MY part), due to some exceptions.
Then I came across the Jeff Pepper's card of the Wizard's Simple BJ Strategy WITH the exceptions listed. I memorized this 18-cell card as well, and have been playing for almost a week now. I make a (careless) mistake once every 80 hands (1.25% error). I was happy until I came across this situation about 4 times now:
Using the Wizard's BJ Game & Trainer, I was dealt a soft 13 (A-2); the dealer's upcard was a 3. My choice was to hit the 3, but the "Advice" button in the game-trainer said to DOUBLE on the Dealer's 3.
The Wizard's card advice was to hit on dealer's upcard of 2-6.
The Jeff Pepper card w/exceptions advice was also to hit (but double on dealer's upcard of 5 or 6).
So, with a soft 13 (A-2) vs dealer's upcard of 3, what should I do? Did I miss any strategy card explanations?

A, 2 is double 5 - 6 otherwise hit. This is for multi-deck games.

Tks!
With a soft 13 (A-2) against the dealer's 3, my choice was also to hit. The game "filters" I set were for a 6-deck hand, no DAS, no Surrender, and Dealer stands on soft 17.
I wonder what other readers have to say about the Wizard's BJ Strategy card which ALSO says to hit, but in the Wizard's BJ Game & Trainer, the advice was do DOUBLE.

Possibly a bug. There has been a few of them in a couple of other games as well.
I'd suggest printing off BOTH the H17 and S17 charts and bring them with you.

For some reason, it ends up that way about half the time. That's why I added the picture.

Tks - I've printed out my strategy cards to bring with me, and reduced them to a 3x5 card I can slip in my pocket when my memory fails me.

If it's just this one bug I've encountered in the Wizard's Game & Trainer Advice, I can live with that. I just have to experience the transition from playing on an iPAD with the Wizard's BJ Game & Trainer to a live table with real people and a dealer that talks! Hope I don't get brain-freeze on my first outing.

It might help if you associate things with the numbers.
For example I'm a Yankee fan. Ace-3 becomes Martin Ruth.
Hit Martin Ruth except DiMaggio(56).
My friend uses the names of his favourite teachers in first thru eleventh grades.

Tks, Bill - I use some variations of words to "match" the 2 cards dealt to me: so a hard 17 becomes "Stan The Man Always Stands". Or "there is no doubling with splits (pairs) - just hits or splits"

Ibeatyouraces and others,
When playing the WOO's BJ Game & Trainer, the settings I use are: Dealer stands on Soft 17, No surrender, and no double after splits
At the bottom of the WOO's Simply Strategy card:
https://wizardofodds.com/games/blackjack/appendix/21/
there's a table titled "Incorrect Plays: Wizard Strategy vs Basic Strategy"
Would this be a good table to memorize in addition to the Strategy card?
