With the Wizard of Odds 5.0 coming out soon I thought I would do some touching up of the banner. The background color had to be changed anyway, and I like a change from time to time. DJTeddyBear has done some great work with all of these -- thanks Dave! So, please vote for which one you like the best. The basic choices are whether you like the green chip "Emerald City" or the more realistic looking one, plus the issue of the rainbow. Remember the song.

So, what do you think?

Everything but #8 is beyond cheezy. The chips
are over the top fantasy. The Wiz of Odds with
just the Emerald City and no rainbow suggest
professionalism with no over the top expectations.

Unless you're promising something you can't deliver,
subtle works well every time. Whats the message
you're trying to convey to people on Wiz of Odds?
That reading your advice will net them piles of
green chips? Hardly. You're telling them the truth
about gambling, that its all about math. And the
chances of you getting piles of green chips is slim
at best.

The subtle suggestion that you're whimsically
connected to the Emerald City from the Wizard
of Oz works to that end. No rainbows promising
something you can't deliver, no piles of green chips
you can't make good on. You make no promises,
the readers have no expectations.

#7 totally gets the concept of the website IMO!
No bounce, no play.

You're very welcome.

Obviously, I'm biased, so I won't vote. Nor will I divulge the thoughts behind the genesis of these changes.

But I'm as eager as the Wiz to see the results, as well as the comments.

I like Banner 8. It is Nice & Semple.

If a Rainbow is to be add. I would like Banner 5, because the Rainbow looks Clear & Strong.

Banner 5! I love the rainbow! I like the more realistic emerald city better than the chip one!

Thanks for the comments thus far. As I hinted at in my OP, the rainbow is supposed to allude to the song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." I'll leave it to you guys to decide whether it is too over the top.

I went with #4. I like the way the chip stacks look like some kind of histogram for a simulation or trial. I think the pale rainbow and the chip-stack allusion to the Emerald City provide a humorous touch without promising any riches -- those could be the chips you lost! Wish there were some simple and clear way to suggest that knowing the math is akin to being the man behind the curtain, or at least having significant impact on your future.

I like #7 myself. The rainbow is neither too faint nor too bold.

#7 A rainbow should be clear, but posses an illusory, not-quite-really-there quality.
