Someone told me New York casinos have class II blackjack. They just installed these blackjack video tables in NY casinos a few months ago. Something tells me they aren't lying since video poker must be class II by NY law as well.

So, according to this player, the moment the game is started, your win or loss is determined already. He claims he tested it by always hitting on 20. He almost always gets an Ace for 21. More so than the odds of such a maneuver. According to him, the only way he can lose hitting 20 is if the computer was going to have the dealer catch 21. Not sure how scientific this is but he says a lot of players are upset.

Anyone have any info on this?

I haven't seen it, but there is no reason one couldn't do this. The outcome is ultimately determined by an electronic draw of bingo balls behind the scenes. What I wonder is if the game predestined the player to win two units, and gave him a hand like 11 vs. 6, what would happen if the player only hit or stood? My hunch is that the player would get a special card or something for the extra unit.

If these are individual terminals, it probably does behave in the way you describe. Games with multiple players are supposed to be typical Vegas-style e-table games from everything I've read.

Class II (electronic bingo) is a misnomer here though. NY state racinos behave like WA state, a large pool of virtual pull-tabs. But yeah, results are predetermined and strategy is worthless in either method, unfortunately.
