I might be going to san juan, Puerto rico next week.

Any info on the casinos?
and anything else in San Juan to see or avoid?

edit:
going there on a cruise so will be walking to/from the casino from the docks.
i'll be there for 3days. can come/go from the cruise ship as I please anytime during those 3 days.

It's been a bit more than 10 years so this may be outdated. I found the areas in and immediately around the city casinos uncomfortable; I felt like I was being eyed by pickpockets and muggers among the folks there, but did not get approached. I would take precautions if I went back, and I would not go alone. I think there are one or two more upscale casinos than the ones we visited, but I don't have any info on them.

I think the old fort is very worth a daytime visit.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

We stayed at the La Concha Resort. They had a small casino there. I have some info about it in my blog:

We enjoyed playing there and would like to go back--the hotel was very nice. They did give out a lot of match play coupons...

time to google a map of all the casinos within walking distance of the cruise ship docks.

The stick calls were in Spanish but you don't really have to understand much if you can see the dice. It was actually fun. I don't think everyone knew English (or used it) but enough of the folks know it...

That was easy--they gave everyone who asked at the front desk (I think you were supposed to be a guest) three $5 match plays. I collected them every time I saw new folks at the desk. They all spoke English.

They also passed match plays out at the craps table for something--I didn't really know why (maybe once and hour or so???), but I took them!

It is moreso if one includes the Caribe Hilton across the inlet.
But beware, they're not really familiar with don't betting, even though it's on the layouts.

Be careful when you follow the masses, the M is sometimes silent.

The main players are still there with the newest machines from all vendors, and table games. You'll find Free Bet, High Card Flush, EZ Baccarat, a lot of good stuff. I would check out San Juan Marriott and La Concha (5 minute walk from each other) and Casino Metro which is connected to the convention center.

I've read Sheraton hotel in old san juan (near pier) no longer has a casino?
also, embassy suites in isla verde has a casino but the hotel side is still shut down for repairs?

Sheraton Old San Juan still has the hotel, but casino has been closed for a few years. That was definitely the closest to the cruise port.

Embassy has a nice casino, hotel still doing some work, but I think at least some rooms are available to stay, not 100% sure.

I believe that at the moment really online casino wins only because of its safety. But despite the coronavirus, people will still play in the casino, well you can just click here [moderator link redacted: Try that again and you will be banned! ] to do it safely for your lives, and it had a huge selection of games, I started playing in the online casino and I never regretted it. The main thing is to choose a reliable website that will bring money to your wallet and you))
