Detroit area casino reviews

I visited the buffet at Motor City recently for breakfast and dinner and thought I'd update my review. I was very pleasantly surprised. The dinner buffet is outstanding -- a really nice room, good food, and unlimited SUSHI. I'm not talking California rolls -- I mean fresh raw yellowtail, salmon and shrimp sushi and sashimi. This was worth the price of the buffet alone in my opinion. They also had the best bread pudding I've ever had in my life. (I always get bread pudding). The breakfast was not a standout, but it was well done. They had a really large variety of options, including pancakes, waffles, french toast, grits, bacon, turkey bacon, eggs benedict, and a made to order omelets station. My omelet was made poorly, however they did have a nice selection of fillings including spinach and a bunch of different meats and cheeses. The blintzes and pancakes/waffles tasted like they were previously frozen. They had blackberries, but no lox. Still doesn't compare to the breakfast buffet at Trump Marina in Atlantic City, which is still tops in my book.

Prices are $13/$19/$24. I used my comp dollars for both meals.

I havent had the buffet there since late last year. Sounds like they made some changes. It used to be really good long before the remodeling was done and it was on the first floor below where it is now.

The Marina buffet is the most consistently underrated buffet in Atlantic City. They almost always try hard.

Was at Motorcity last night for a $25,000 cash drawing. Didnt win it but the place was jammed. You would have had to wait about 2 hours for the buffet around 8:30 last night.

Anyone been to Detroit Casinos lately? Any updates?

Within the last 6 weeks, I've been to each of them except Motor City, and I don't play there anymore as they do not have enough VP machines. There are always people waiting to get a seat.

Not much has changed over the past few years, but I will mention a couple of things: the small non-smoking area at MGM has the worst VP pay tables on the entire floor, so I would expect the regular slots in there to be likewise.

All VP machines at Greektown have been moved into a couple of the small rooms in the annex area alongside Monroe Ave. Be aware that a bank of Game Kings which offer quarter 9/6 JOB also give you a short royal of 2,500.

Anybody been to Detroit casinos recently? I'll be heading down there in a few weeks.
