I get offers for Laughlin every week, but only accept the VP and live poker invitations. Harrahs Laughlin always offers me the chance to win $8,000 in cash or a WSOP ME seat. I chopped once for 1st/2nd in Feb 2011 and came in 3rd for $3,000 one other time. Haven't cashed in any of the others, tho. Does anyone else go these invites? I also get the Harrah's VP offers.

While in Laughlin, I spend most of my time at the Riverside playing an old machine Aces No Fces. Its a progressive for 25¢ and its always busy. Its for sure my favorite game there. I ahve been dealt the Royal-it pays you 5000 coin ($1,250) PLUS the progressive. Positive EV if there ever was +EV. I've also gotten the AAAA7 for $7,500 coins which plus the $100 for the 4 As pays $1,975. Great bank. I'm a low roller as compared to most of you, but I enjoy my trips there. As someone who lives in Vegas, and who plays everyday, the majority of my W-2Gs come from Laughlin. I don't mind an elderly casino and crap food, if I can win.

I also play the rest of the casinos, there, too, but most of my winning is from the Riverside. If anyone else likes the Aces No Faces, there is one machine at Golden Nugget 25¢. A lot of the bartops at Pioneer have them with 25/50/1.00 denoms. The Avi also has them at the $1.00 and 25¢ denoms.

I thought Laughlin offered free Geritol.

Last time I was in Tunica, we had a drunk couple sing the praises of Laughlin. They were roughly our parents' ages.

And as far as this game goes...it's still -EV although it sounds like OP has received positive variance from it.

I receive the offer for the poker tournament (1st place wins $8000 or WSOP seat). Only reason I take this is because of the free hotel room. I go and stay for the weekend. I strive to be the first person out of the tournament since I have no desire to actually play in it. This past November, I tried my best to be first out, but I ended up lasting almost 15 minutes.

Correct.

Geritol in Laughlin, Viagra in Las Vegas.

Strangely enough, at the age of 41, I've had more success with meeting women in Laughlin than in Vegas.

I get mail two or three times a week from Harrah's Laughlin. I don't take part in many of their tournaments but they send me $200 a week in bounceback that I will use occasionally. I believe I was given close to $8400 in free play for the one day I played to earn Diamond (I did lose about $650 doing DIAD).
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

Ditto. I wonder what the math on that looks like for them? They're only offering it because they know the likelihood of you using it is so low, right? It's gotta be something like: $8,400 * .25% chance that you'll actually be in Laughlin at the right time = $21 theoretical "loss" from offering you all that great-looking free play.
