WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SONG!! It's NOT Shinedown's "45" and it's NOT REM's "staring down the barrel of a .45" But I could swear it has that lyric in the chorus.

I hear it all the time at work, but I'm really just getting the beat and can't make out the lyrics. It's up tempo, fast and sounds like a recent alt rock, punk rock, emo kinda band.

something something something something... FORTY FIVE
something something something something... FORTY FIVE

I know that at the end of the first line of the chorus it sounds like he's saying FORTY FIVE, but I could be wrong. Does that make sense to anyone? Does ANYONE know what the hell song I'm talking about.. it's driving me nuts.

Brimful of asha?

YES!!!! THANK YOU!!

A quick look on Youtube and it seems the Fatboy Slim version is what I'm hearing, not Cornershop.

Plus the song seemed faster when I didn't know the lyrics, and frankly couldn't even hear or understadn the words. Now I know why I couldn't figure it out.. it's a weird song..haha.. I still like the beat though.

Get the SoundHound app for smart phones.

It listens to about 10 seconds of music, singing, or even humming, and it will identify the title & artist, display the lyrics, etc.

If course, the better the sound quality, the faster and more accurate it is, but I was shocked to see that it does often work with humming.

If you're out of WiFi range, it will store a sound segment, and go to the internet to identify it later.

It's the best free app I ever would have paid for.

One of my favorite songs. The remix is much better than the original version -- one of the few instances where the remix overshadows the song. The lyrics refer to Asha Bhosle, the most famous playback singer in Indian music.

wow, amazing stuff you relate. I had no idea.

Would I lie about such things?

For the record, I would LOVE to know how the hell it works.

Then again, I'd love to know how the internet works.

While I'm at it, I'm reminded of a moment from a Simpsons episode about 20 years ago. After getting cable TV installed, Homer picks up the cable, kisses it, and asks, "How can so much enjoyment come from one insulated wire?"

That's a damn good question.
