For those interested in coincidences, there are three involving the Mannings and New Orleans.

First Archie Manning, father of Payton and Eli Manning, was New Orleans' QB for many years during the 70s and 80s. Afterward he went to Houston and ended his career playing with the Vikings, whom the Saints beat this year at the NFC championship.

Second, current Saints QB Drew Brees played for San Diego early in his career. The Chargers drafted Eli manning, but he refused to sign with them. He was traded to the Giants and the Chargers got Philip Rivers. Rivers eventually displaced Brees as the starter in San Diego, so Brees got traded to New Orleans. One can speculate how Brees would have fared had Eli signed with the Chargers.

Third, of course the Saints will face the son of their old QB in the Superbowl this year. For his part Payton Manning must have grown up rooting for the Saints.

These kinds of connections and coincidences aren't that rare in the NFL. Craig Morton, formerly the starter QB for Dallas, lost a Superbowl against his replacement in Dallas, Roger Staubach. Dan Reeves, formerly the coach of the Broncos, lost a Superbowl against Denver when he coached the Falcons. Just last year Ken Whisenhunt, head coach of the Cardinals, faced his old team, the Steelers, int he big game (and lost).
Donald Trump is a fucking criminal
