About 6 months ago my wife dropped her galaxy s5 and destroyed the screen. She only broke the glass and the phone still worked fine. It was going to be about 200 to have a place replace the glass so we left it go. Recently it started to actually break apart so I ordered a screen on amazon for $6. I watched about 2 hours of youtube videos on how to do it. I started the process and it took me no longer than 6 minutes to destroy the lcd screen and ruin the phone. Owell I guess she gets an s7 tomorrow.

Although I find the videos useful for doing stuff, I always check the comments. Sometimes there's a big warning from other people why you shouldn't do something in the above video.

Not saying that's the case, just pointing that out. There's more than a few goofballs posting videos.
It's so overt, it's covert.

The videos were well made and they all had warnings that it is tough to do and easy to screw up. I can buy the same phone on Craigslist for 100 so it didn't make sensense to spend more on a repair.

Got the new phone today. Went to 5 below to get screen protector and case for under $10 where tmobile wants 25 for each.

Also, I know warranties are basically scams but cell phone ones should be outright illegal. Tmobile is willing to sell you a warranty for $14 a month. Ok ok, not too bad since you will "only" spend $336 to get a free replaced $600 phone. But wait.... there is $200 deductible so if you break it you still have to pay them $200 to get the phone replaced. So it costs you 536 to get a 600 phone replaced. I mentioned that to the manager that was trying to sell it and he argued that it is like paying 536 to get 1200 in phones. I tried explaining that no.. I am spending 600 already and no matter what. The cost of replacement is just the cost of the new phone. Sigh..

Ummmm.... if you lose your phone later that day you will get anew $600 phone for $200 plus the $14. It can't be a warranty because you get some defined period of time for free until it is 'no longer under warranty'. That being said, I agree that these 'plans' tend to be extremely negative EV.

My wireless carrier sent me an upgrade 4g, I think. But what is the use of having the net available if the screen is the size of a postage stamp and how can I type 'abc' is the keypad but I want 'b' or 'c' and keep getting 'a'.
What is the cheapest phone I can get that I can actually SEE?
All I do is plug it in every two days and buy more minutes every month that I don't really use.
Its got bluetooth but what do I do with it?

There's a slight timing lag on the character registering when you use that type of texting. One tap=a, two quick taps =b, 3 quick taps =c. Some letters have a 4th tap for punctuation or other marks beyond the alphabet.

If you buy a past-generation smart phone, either one "reconditioned (trade-in)" or via ebay or someone, usually they're either free from your cellular provider, a small monthly payment to own (like maybe $5), or less than $50. I personally would suggest a Samsung note 3, or a Motorola Razr for your purposes.
