I love the title "Tour De Craphole" lol. I just wanted to say that I don't think Ellis Island is a craphole at all, just a small casino. It's been/being remodeled a bit. They have the best hard lemonade in the summer. I don't want to brush my teeth with it but damn is it good.
$1700, 18, 19, 1920, 40, 60,... :/ Thx 'Do it again'. I'll try

I'm sure I'll get a lot of push-back on this one, but I would submit for your consideration the Ellis Island. Almost everyone will rise to its defense saying it is great, which it is! But it a great in a neighborhood dive kind of way.

Well, yeah, EI is definitely a locals joint. But Mrs. Q and I walk there all the time, mostly for the breakfast special. (And some decent VP). We take the 202 bus over to PALMS after breakfast.

It has in fact been upgraded lately as noted by MOOSETON. The old black painted concrete floor has been tiled in a very nice way. Say "hello" to Pete the pit-boss. I don't mean he's "dumpy". But he's gotta be in his upper 60's or 70's with a sense of humor.

This "dumpy round-up" definitely needs a nice long trip report !

Did anyone mention the place next to Battista's Hole in the Wall and across from Bally's ? "Stagedoor" maybe. I've never gone in. But the bartender riding the 202 told us it is quite the site to see around 4 or 5 am.
The slyest rhymes, the sharpest suits; In miracles made real; Like a bird in flight on a hot sweet night; You know you're right just to hold her tight; He soothes it right, makes it out of sight; And every thing's good in the world tonight. Pete appeared to be the most miserable PB I have ever met at first. But after playing a few times, tipping the dealers and talking to him, he is a helluva nice guy. I see him as a throwback to old Vegas using his skills learned over the years to watch for cheating or counting without the need for new fancy surveillance.

Ellis is a must visit for multiple reasons including cheap decent beer brewed on site and their BBQ restaurant.

Stage door is a VP/ Slots only place, smoke filled with locals mostly along with some in the know tourists looking for cheap drinks. They have cleaned it up some recently and increased some prices, but it's still dirt cheap to the strip around the corner. Mamasan is one of the best bartenders in LV.

If you're looking to shoot craps, know that some of those places have limited hours.

Joker's Wild opens the craps table around 9am, but closes it down by midnight.

Ellis Island, Railroad Pass, and Club Fortune don't open them up until 3-4pm.

Why are people calling Club Fortune dumpy? Its no Wynn, but I would not call it dumpy. Its just a small normal casino.

And I don't think Jokers Wild is dumpy/sketchy. If it is, then El Dorado is too. I like Jokers Wild.

Lucky Club, or the old Ramada, is definitely "sketchy".

Cannery is NOT sketchy at all. I have no idea why this thread started out including Cannery. Cannery is a good place. I love the Cannery.

Eureka, like others said, quite sketchy, but I love it there. Definitely a "bad" neighborhood. Not just bad, but "weird" at night. Locals probably know what I mean by "weird". A block away or so, to the east, is a square that includes that famous Thai restaurant, and there are a lot of people in that square at night, some weird things happening, look it up if you need more detail. And if you're looking for broads, that's not a good place. Unless you're into that kinda thing. Freak.

Fwiw, I would say that at one time or another I have found a good play at every one of the joints on this thread's list. Although not necessarily now.
Don't believe anything until it is officially denied.
