I was wondering what you folks think about the current state of poker in Vegas. I was there during the WSOP and found plenty of action everywhere, but the games seemed a LOT tougher than they used to be. People just aren't making egregious errors as often as they did, say, ten years ago. Also, the rakes have gone up (again). I had a nice overall win, but frankly, that's more due to my having run good than to any superior play on my part.

Is this an accurate impression, or are there still plenty of fish to be hooked? About the only thing that's worked for me is playing in the larger cardrooms and hopping from table to table like a demented bunny until I find a table full of turistas. But it just doesn't seem to be anywhere near the gravy train it was.

You might enjoy Andrew Neeme YouTube channel.

I'd agree with your overall consensus but the games are still very beatable. Disclaimer I play poker for a living and spend 10-12 hours a week on training.
