Zero dots.

Technically, they are "Pips"

There are 2(6+5+4+3+2+1) = 42 Pips on two six sided dice.

Per the online reference, "On dice, pips are small dots on each face of a common six-sided die. These pips are typically arranged in patterns denoting the numbers one through six. The sum of opposing faces traditionally adds up to seven." I'm not asking the number of dots on a six-sided die, my question is the number of dots on a pair of dice.

On a pair of normal 6 sided dice? I'm not sure why the info in your paragraph is insufficient for you to determine this yourself. Opposing sides add up to 7. There are 3 sets of opposing sides on each die. 3 sets * 7 dots per set * 2 dice = 21 * 2 = 42. Or, in other words, Aye was right:-)

Not hard at all.

But check this guy's other posts and threads.

He seems intelligent enough to express his thoughts concisely, without grammatical or spelling errors, but can't do simple math.

1+2+3+4+5+6=21. That's the number of pips (dots) on a single die. 21+21=42. That's the number on a pair of dice.

There are two correct answers, and 42 is one correct answer. What is the other answer? Hint: This is a trick question.

Which pair is it? A pair of deuces?

The other correct answer is 2. There are 2 dots on "a pair of dice". Got it? :-)

Stupid. At least write IN instead of ON a pair of dice.

And one descender. Boo.

THERE ARE NO DOTS ON A PAIR OF DICE.

Actually, when viewed on a monitor screen (composed of pixels), the phrase "a pair of dice" has, shall we say, lots and lots of dots!

Ooh, I just zoomed my browser... even more dots!

ME, mind If I complete the "deer riddle" trilogy? :)

It was supposed to be: what do you call a blind deer,
Then blind deer with no legs, still no eye deer.
Then the deer with no, what it was written as castrated, still no effing eye deer.
Just for the record, or that's the way I've always heard it told.

Two of course, but how the hell did they get inside there?

The answer is still two, what, are you Polish?
