Sell them for $25Quote: scubatim84Ok, so I'm going to the Orleans in February for a bowling tournament, and for staying there I get $100 worth of $10 match play coupons at table games. I'm wondering what the best way to just cash it out with minimal risk would be since I normally don't play table games (VP only) and do have to put up $100 of my own cash as well to use the coupons.

If you win half lose half, you win $100 and lose $50 for a net of $50. Just about what you can expect.
Win 3 and lose 7, you only lost $10.
Or sell them to me for $26.
if for even money only, Craps if you are familiar with it, if not then BJ.

First, don't sell it to AxelWolf for $25
If you have a friend, you can use some teamwork.
Find the Ez baccarat table,
Your friend bet $15 on banker and you bet $10+match play on the player.
If banker wins, the net profit = $15 - $10 = $5 with an exception that we call Dragon-7 and there is a 2.25% chance it happens per trial. When it happens you push on the banker's bet and lose the player's bet, which is $10. Read https://wizardofodds.com/games/baccarat/appendix/6/
If player wins, the net profit = $20 - $15 = $5
If you want to be 100% risk free, bet $1 on the Dragon-bet.
You will be guaranteed to win about $40 at the end.
RS out bid me by $1. TBH I wouldn't mess around with it, I have a bunch of $25 match plays I haven't played, they will be 1 year old tomorrow from the Rivera.Quote: KickassFirst, don't sell it to AxelWolf for $25

Nonetheless your Idea isn't worth the effort of making 19 extra dollars.
In reality he should just find the game he knows and likes best and take comfort knowing he has a huge advantage. Id just play 10 hands of blackjack. The odds of him not making any money is slim, he might even run good and make a nice little score. If he doesn't know BJ, the dealer can help and will probably get close to BS. Or print out a strategy card and whip it out.

In reality, I would play 10 hands of blackjack too. It will only take about less than 5 minutes to get it done. But the question is how to cash it out with the minimal risk and in theory you don't need to take any risk if you have a partner. I will leave it to scubaim84 to decide whether it is worth the effort. It is true that "The odds of him not making any money is slim, he might even run good and make a nice little score. " But he can also come out empty-handed or with negative result.

You should give them away as Christmas gifts or donate them to the people who need it such as DI people.
I don't remember them having an expiration date so eventually Ill remember to bring them. Perhaps If I meet up with someone from the forum Ill suggest that as a meeting spot and toss them a few to have. At least then there will be a +EV reason to meet at a particular location.Quote: KickassIn reality, I would play 10 hands of blackjack too. It will only take about less than 5 minutes to get it done. Rivera has Pool tables and pinball, so thats fun to.
If you do have a partner, I would think that "doey-don't" with $1 on the 12 for 5* decisions at the craps table would guarantee you the best return -- $45*. I'm not sure how tolerant the box/pit would be of this.
Without a partner, or if it is disallowed, I would just do 10 pass or don't pass decisions. This would give you a good EV at a game where you don't need to know much strategy. However, as stated above, it would not guarantee a win, and could actually lose money.
The match play coupons are for even money bets I believe.
I don't mind some risk...100 bucks isn't that much money to me. I don't gamble with money I can't afford to lose. I was thinking either pass line or don't pass line myself at craps, although the downside is it would take far longer than 10 hands of blackjack and the outcome may be far worse since player skill doesn't exist in craps.
The only thing that made me hesitate on BJ is if I need to split the hand, or double down, according to the strategy then a few bad hands in a row would wipe me out pretty quickly. Still, that could happen at craps too if the shooter isn't lucky.
Worst case, lose 10 in a row -$100 in, $0 out.
Best case, win 10 in a row - $100 in, $290 out.
Confirm that you don't lose your match coupon on a tie.
Lower commission is better. I think I'd prefer EZ-Baccarat if it's available, so long as you don't lose your coupon on a push.

I'll have to ask when I get it...good point, I would hope not.
Edit: I just checked, and no you don't lose your coupon on push...he's been using them at blackjack and no issues.

Ez-Bac is ideal, then. The commission structure in that game turns 1 particular winning hand into a push.
