It's satisfying, somewhat petty, and may cost a few bucks, but there have been a few mentions of people doing something to get back at other players who are annoying.

There's gambler's story about taking on an obnoxious high roller.

And kenarman's story about another rude jerk.

I got so annoyed with one guy who was always putting down late bets that I started aiming the dice at his hands. I never managed to hit him, but there were a few people who caught on to what I was doing and had a good laugh.

Are there any other stories about striking back at annoying players out there?

A semi-shameless bump.

This is not exactly striking back, but ...

This lady shows up at the table and does just about everything at the wrong time, and makes life difficult for the dealers. Check change for 7 green. Oh wait, she wants 4 green back. Late bets. Dice are out. "Wait a second!" she yells. "I want a yo, and a hard 6, make that all the hardways. Do I have a yo? Oh and a come bet." Each call is another chip or three flying across the table. Come bets win. "Pay the come bet," she repeats impatiently while the dealer works around to her. Then she picks up both chips. Dice are out. "Wait a second, I want a come bet." Hands are in the bowl and the dice hit her. Luckily it's not a seven, although that would have made me happy. Finally it happens. Dice are out, and she tosses $3 to the stickman, calling out, "The rest of the hardways." She doesn't have a hard anything. "No bet!" Hard 8 rolls. "Where's my hard 8?" she asks. The stick explained that she did not have a hardway bet on the table, so he didn't know what she wanted to do with the three extra chips, and he called no bet. (She missed that because she was chatting with some friends.) She got pissy and left the table griping, "Isn't THAT convenient. There's no tip for you." I tossed in $5 "for the dealers for calling it right" and thinking "and for getting her away from the table."

If I find someone annoying me at a table or even a slot machine, i will light up a cigar and try to direct the smoke at them. After a couple minutes, politly say I'm sorry and didn't realize where the smoke was going and put it out.

There's really no need to do a thing if an annoying player sits next to you, other than get annoyed and/or move. It's a casino for God's sake, and all kinds of characters will come and go and you should expect that to be the case. I'm one of the beautiful people and am totally put off by the majority of ugly slugs who are in most casinos. It's still my & their choice where we go.
